Chapter 47 - Deal

"The crown prince has requested an audience with you," Marianne says, her voice firm, steady and confident.

"What?" Louis asks, taken aback. "I don't understand why he would want to meet with me."

"I don't know either," Marianne replies. "But you're not afraid of the prince, are you?"

"Of course not," Louis says, a hint of amusement in his voice. "He's just a man, after all."

"Exactly," Marianne says, smiling. "So, that son of a bitch," Marianne says, rolling her eyes. "He wants to ruin my workshop just because I didn't show him to you."

Louis chuckles, but Marianne continues, "And I bet you're going to betray me by telling him what I said."

Louis smiles. "Hey, don't worry. I would never do that."

Marianne rolls her eyes and says,

"Better."

"Why are you and the prince not on good terms?" Louis asks with a smile, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.
