"I'm sorry, my child. I never knew it would come to this, but you must be careful of Lydia. She is evil and has so much power, but you can destroy her," Giles said, his voice filled with emotion.
"You don't need to be sorry. I should have known better," Mia said, her eyes flooded with tears.
Suddenly, the cracking sound of the cell door opening interrupted their conversation. King Alexandria entered, questioning, "What is going on here?"
Mia quickly wiped her eyes and gave him a quick hug. "Did he do anything to you?" Alexandria asked curiously.
"No, my love, I am fine. I was just asking to know why... why..." Mia struggled to find the right words.
"She was asking why I wanted both of you dead," Giles interjected.
"Hmm, yes. I wanted to know why he was hell-bent on killing you," Mia said, faking a smile.
"You should not be here alone. It's not safe. He is dangerous and a wizard," the king warned.
