Chapter 81 - Chapter 81 Explanations

Fighting back the pain coming from his lower back, kevin squatted down and brought his hand up to Claire's calf.

Claire was shocked and scared in her heart, and instinctively took a step back, hiding her left leg behind her right leg as well as coming to avoid kevin's hands.

"I'm not going to hurt you."

kevin looked up with a smile, his mission, is to save as many people as possible, before the black Peyton was just an accident, he did not sense the T-virus in his body, so much so that he unconsciously forgot to inject him with the antidote for the time being ...

Perhaps it was kevin's smile that did the trick, or perhaps it was the fact that Claire knew what she was going to become next, and instead of dodging kevin's movements once more, she allowed him to roll up her pants and slowly pull them up until, a clearly visible bite mark appeared!

"The T-virus hasn't mutated yet, and the antidote still works."

Sensing a bit closer, the virus in kevin's body reacts the same way as it would in the face of any other zombie; the virus in Claire's body is unmutated like Peyton's, and the antidote in kevin's storage space, is still effective.

With a shake of his right hand, Kevin took out a green antidote as well as a syringe from his storage space.

"Oh my God? What is this? A magic trick?"

Jill just thought kevin's hand was so awesome that she almost forgot to worry about Claire.

Kevin smiled without explanation, but it was Alice who saw the so-called "space folding" technology in Kevin's mouth again, and her pupils couldn't help but contract for a moment.

kevin pressed the device on the syringe and the spare sterilized needle instantly replaced the previously used one, the green double helix structure antidote already loaded.

Claire, prompted by KEVIN, pulled up her wrists and slapped them a little harder, causing the veins hidden beneath the skin to bulge out.

The sharp alloy needle that flashed with a hint of coldness was easily pierced into Claire's white arm, and the green antidote liquid was injected into Claire's body almost instantly under the powerful pressure of the syringe.

"Zee!"

kevin seemed to be able to hear the screams of the T-virus in her body, and the special substance in the antidote was able to quickly tear the T-virus apart and kill them!

As if he was just juggling the syringe back into his storage space, Kevin's eyes lifted to meet Claire's worried, frightened gaze, her eyes rolling around to tell of her inner turmoil.

"I don't want to become one of those things."

Claire's tone was heavy, tears seemed to glisten in her eyes, and Jill, who was holding her up, couldn't help but sigh quietly.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine."

kevin held Claire's palm, and the calmness in his eyes infected Claire, causing her eyes, which were sweeping around, to settle.

"What I just injected you with was the antidote to the virus, it's enough to reverse your transformation into a zombie and we'll all be fine."

kevin's tone was sincere, making people unconsciously want to believe, and the uneasiness and fear in Claire's eyes slowly faded, a hint of a hijacked smile blooming.

"What did you say?!"

Just as Claire was about to embrace kevin, Jill, who had been feeling a little off, finally exploded and grabbed kevin by the collar, lifting him straight up and slamming him hard against a roll-up door to the side!

"Clunk ..."

The trembling sound of vibrating tin echoed long into the darkness, passing instantly to the end of the street, faintly answered by the hissing of a zombie!

"There's an antidote for being bitten? Why don't you give it to Peyton?"

Jill's expression was agitated and fierce, her eyes as menacing as a wolf's, seeming to eat kevin alive, directly ignoring the pistol Alice had pointed at her temple!

There was another pain in kevin's lower back that didn't seem to be subsiding at all, but the gaze he met Jill with remained calm and open.

"I want to save him too."

kevin looked straight into Jill's eyes and said, "But think about it, from the time we met ... until we parted, did I have a chance to inject him with the antidote?"

Jill fell silent, and the hand gripping kevin's collar quietly dropped.

"Besides, the virus he's infected with is mutated twice, and my antidote won't work on him."

"I'm sorry."

Jill remembered the difference between Peyton's mutation and the others infected with the virus, and had in her mind what she had already deduced.

kevin takes the camera, already blackened with coagulated blood, out of his pocket and hands it to Claire.

"Use it to record what happens here, and if any of us survive, it will work."

"This is ... Terry's camera!"

Jill's eyes, deeply touched, had looked at kevin a little differently.

"Well, things have worked out."

Ellis pointed her gun upward and inclined her head, the corner of her mouth curving up.

"Okay Alice, let's get out of here."

KEVIN glanced in the direction the crowd had just come from, a few shambling figures approaching in the light.

"Damn, what the hell are those things?!"

Jill wasn't a nice person either, and already had a big grudge against these damn walkers.

"They're biochemical weapons, a secret Umbrella research project that previously existed underground, but some accident not long ago allowed them to escape to the surface."

Alice stated simply, her eyes facing forward, the words bringing a message that left both Jill and Claire incredibly surprised and somewhat relieved.

"How do you know so much?"

Jill held one of Claire's arms over her shoulder while casting a puzzled look at Iris.

"Kevin and I used to work for them."

Ellis paused, her gaze finally straying slightly to land on kevin.

"I apologize for not succeeding in preventing this accident."

Upon learning that both kevin and Alice were previously working for the Umbrella Corporation, both Jill and Claire froze, their fast-moving feet coming to a halt, their eyes staring at the two men somewhat dully, as if the shock of the news had been too great, causing them to lose their ability to think for an instant.

"It's nothing to be surprised about."

kevin shook his head and said, "We should be freelancing now."

"You're cool."

Jill froze, then came back to her senses and said, "All that action, it's just like being in a movie!"

Jill pondered the words in her head to describe it, before finally realizing that the only way to describe Alice's uncanny marksmanship and agile, dashing hands was to shoot a movie.

"I'm a great fighter, but I'm still not as good as you."

There was a hint of more eagerness in Jill's gaze toward Ellis; a powerful being was always easy to admire.

"Then you should be glad."

Alice glanced at Jill and said, "At least you're normal, and we ... I doubt they did anything to me."

Alice dropped her gaze to kevin and said, "I don't even suspect I'm human anymore ..."

Alice said, stopping in her tracks, her beautiful deep blue eyes as captivating as the ocean, looking straight at kevin's pupils with a ring of silver arcs.

"You know what they did to me?"

kevin's eyes rolled slightly as he organized his words and said, "They should have injected a large amount of the T-virus into your body to turn you into a deeply infected person."

"What?"

"This ..."

Jill and Claire were abruptly startled and subconsciously took a step backward, frightened by the news that spewed out of kevin's mouth, and then they felt that their reaction seemed to be a bit too much, and were a bit embarrassed, wanting to explain but not knowing how to open their mouths.

"It's okay."

KEVIN glanced at both Claire's and returned his gaze to Iris.

"Unlike those who turned into zombies, your physique tamed the T-virus, it was assimilated into you and served you well, giving you extraordinary speed, strength, recovery, and even some unimaginable supernatural abilities!"

"... this, this ..."

Claire felt that her brain was a bit inadequate, and the worldview she had formed in the past days showed signs of collapsing, having been greatly impacted.

Jill was even more jaw-dropped, unable to say a word, a look of disbelief on her face.

"Unbelievable! ... No, I mean ..."

Jill shook her head, looking a little incoherent.
