Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 - Infection with the Virus

KEVIN stood up slowly, his whitened face more worrisome than his progressively taller body temperature!

"I see this symptom of BOSS, why does it look a bit like sepsis?"

Jedi whispered and attached herself to Rae's ear.

"Sepsis?!"

For some reason, kevin's sense of hearing suddenly became abnormally sharp, and even though Jedi deliberately lowered her voice, kevin heard it clearly!

Even kevin's sense of hearing, which was able to be sharp enough to, through their breathing and heartbeats, determine the approximate location they were in, without having to rely on vision at all!

"No! Your symptoms, it's like you have a virus, the T-virus!"

Elise, who knew the most about the T-virus, made the judgment call, and did her homework in order to steal it!

"I haven't been bitten."

kevin was pretty sure that his body hadn't even had any contact with the walkers!

Even the corpses that littered the corridors were insulated by a thick layer of insoles, and there was never any chance of contracting the T-virus!

And, the symptoms of his discomfort were before he entered the corridor!

"But it can be spread in other ways too! For example, the zombies here, a large portion of them weren't infected by other zombies!"

With a serious expression, Elise continued, "The terror of this virus lies in its ability to spread through the air, or liquid!"

"People with slightly poorer constitutions, or allergies, are at risk of being infected by airborne viruses!"

"Liquid?!"

KEVIN steeply recalled that he had, earlier, seemingly splashed himself with some kind of liquid when he had pulled down the glass shelves outside the surveillance room, which was the only time he had ever touched anything inside this hive!

At the time, kevin didn't notice!

It seemed, to be something in one of the petri dishes, but, hell, I don't know what it was!

What kevin could be sure of was that what he was infected with was definitely not some T-virus!

"I'm pretty sure it's not the T-virus I'm infected with, maybe it's some other research virus inside the hive, well, cut the crap and get out as soon as you can, everything, can only be done when you get to the surface!"

kevin stood up and began to lead the crowd up the steps that led to Alys' public house.

"BOSS, is your body okay?"

Rei asked a little uneasily.

"Hang in there."

KEVIN returned simply and forcefully, and at this point, he seemed to be in even better shape, than he had been before!

Agility and strength of movement and flexibility of response!

"Elise, if you've recovered your memory, you should know where in the villa ammunition is hidden, right?"

Alys nodded thoughtfully and said, "I have ammunition there, enough to resupply."

Elise looked like she had fully recovered her memory.

"On guard!"

"Brush it off!"

Looking at the glass-walled door that was gradually opening, kevin warned in a gruff voice.

Without him having to say anything, all the mercenaries raised their guns, turned on their safeties, and were in combat mode, forming a standard combat formation, covering both kevin and Matt in the back.

The dull moonlight spilled through the glass of the window, divided by the frame into neat chunks, bringing a bit of light to the floor.

Drawn curtains printed with a garish purple pattern hung neatly and meticulously on either side of the window, revealing a distant view of the mountains and woods beyond!

The large villa seemed incredibly silent, as if no uninvited guests had arrived!

Eyes lifted up along the dim moonlight, a wooden extra-long dining table was set in the center of the hall, two crystal candlesticks sparkling and charming, luxurious and unobtrusive!

Around the halls of the house, there were also several statues wrapped in inferior plasticine.

A gust of wind blew through and blew the window right open, and the plastic paper rubbed with a rustling sound that was unusually eerie in the dim and silent surroundings!

Everyone except kevin, who actively refused, wore night vision devices that allowed them to see everything in sight without any problems, even in the out-of-reach environment!

The mercenaries who had just experienced a great deal of life and death obviously wouldn't take this eerie atmosphere to heart, and followed behind Ellis.

Ellis, as the nominal owner of this public house, was immensely familiar with the place, and passing through an open wooden door, she led the crowd to her bedroom ...

Or rather, her bedroom with Spence ...

Alice gingerly pulled open the third box in the bed closet in the bedroom and entered the combination.

KEVIN glanced at the two crates above him, then at the night, and ultimately refrained from suggesting that the mercenary costumes be changed all together.

It was nighttime now, and even if the Umbrella Corporation mobilized satellites to spy on them, it was unlikely that they would be found, and when they got to the center of the city, they would be able to hide casually so that they couldn't find them!

"Oooooh, just right!"

Ellis entered the code quickly, removing the special glass that sealed the firearms, revealing two submachine guns as well as a night vision device.

Rei looked, with a glance at Aeris' weaponry, and couldn't help but marvel.

While all of their weapons belonged to the same Lucky, Ellis's, obviously, was better maintained, with some modifications in some places to give the firearms a superior last name!

"Everyone pick up speed! I'm guessing everything here is already known to the Umbrella Corporation, replenish your ammo and get out fast!"

As the property of the Umbrella Corporation, how could it not do some protection measures, and inside this drawer where the ammunition was stored, something like surveillance was definitely installed!

"The ammo is all on the next level."

After removing the two submachine guns and inserting them into holsters on the outside of her thighs, Iris pulled out one of the bottom drawers and entered the code!

"Tee-hee-hee-hee!"

A blinding flash of red came out and the error message popped up, refusing to recognize this password!

"What's going on here, it doesn't recognize my password?!"

Alice looked unusually strange, apparently she had never been in this situation before.

"Kalamp, be quick!"

kevin urged.

"Don't worry."

Confident, Kalamp crouched down unhurriedly as the crowd's night vision watched, forming a connection between the tactical computer on his arm and this drawer's interface, hacking into its systems on the fly!

It was a mere irrelevance, and it took Kalamp less than twenty seconds to bring, to make this slow drawer of ammunition, all exposed!

A fresh scent of gun oil hit the two raiders with a cheer, and it was an absolute surprise that there were actually bullets from the rifle model they said they were using in this as well.

"There's not much time left for us, and the Umbrella Corporation's wrongness could reach us at any moment!"

kevin kept urging, by no stretch of the imagination, the particular virus he had contracted was eating away at his immune system, maddening his immune cells!

Unlike normal sepsis, the cells in kevin's body began to die rapidly under the indiscriminate attack of the white blood cells and began to accumulate on the surface of his skin, which made his skin, gradually, pale!

This is exactly how zombification works!

But, again, the process of mutation with the T-virus, which is not exactly the same, makes it impossible to determine which species it is!

Perhaps, a product of failed T-virus research ...

The mercenaries were quick to just replenish some ammo, the bullets stored in Elise's drawer were pre-pressed into magazines, and everyone was just taking some to hang on to themselves.

"Note: This is a quest world item that can be taken into the Abyss at the cost of survival time and is weakened by eighty percent!"

"Note: In mission scenarios, firearms are similarly weakened by eighty percent in their lethality against indentured servants!"

That's the tip kevin got when he touched the gun!

The last name of the firearm was directly weakened by eighty percent!

What does that mean?

It means that even if the Contractor only has the physical qualities of an ordinary person, it's still enough to capture the trajectory and have a high chance of dodging it!

And even if they are hit, as long as they don't hit the vitals, they won't be fatal or even cause serious injury!

(Yes, after all, this is not the main god space, demons, should be divided into fantasy, metaphysical first-class, for the weakening of technology, it makes sense ah ...)

Thoughts spun in kevin's mind, his thoughts were not affected by the viral infection, but instead became clearer!
