"Pull back, Retreat to the ships!"
Underwater, the battle wasn't doing well.
With the two gigantic divine beasts of myth appearing in this destroyed world once more, they had blasted through the battle lines.
And from that gap from whence they came, the monsters surged.
Mercenaries hired by the kingdom and adventurers hired by the civilian government of the adventurers guild getting more and more mortally wounded by the second their morale came to an all time low.
This wouldn't have been extremely damning to the mercenaries and adventurers as they knew the dangers of the expedition they were going on.
Especially since it concerned the sea which was still untouched territory for a good majority of humanity.
But since they could have a legitimate excuse to leave to save their lives.
The adventurers and mercenaries driven by their own desires quickly fell back as the last shreds of morale went down the drain and the chain of command quickly fell apart.
Especially so since the army led by the third prince Armen was consisted mostly of mercenaries and adventurers who held no loyalty whatsoever to the prince save for the one ship captain and his personal guard.
In essence, save the one ship full of loyalists, the rest of the adventurers and mercenaries who brought along for the ride had no extreme desire to stay out of loyalty of a contract.
No use of having the money since they would die.
But besides that.
Swiftly returning to their ships above the seas, the situation there wasn't any better as waves 20 meters high and dyed brown from blood crashed onto their ships.
Gigantic tentacles slamming into the high waves as a large tail swept through the ocean, any ships unfortunate enough to be caught in the battle of goliath's were destroyed without any chance to resist.
Framed by the dark sky thundering every so often, a gigantic white eye ball flew up into the clouds as the deep sea was covered in the fires of chaos.
Monstrous fish monsters that were a mixture of crustaceans, octopi and scaled fish leapt onto the decks.
Using a mixture of suckers and webbed limbs to cling onto the sides of the ship, wooden boards and crushed bones swept into the sea forever lost to the depths.
On those ships, sailors in pale sea worn clothes swung their cutlasses as mercenaries clad in leather arm slashed their knives.
Blood was spilt.
Crushed bones and cut flesh being swept into the sea, the monstrous blood seeking fish monsters were kicked up into a feeding frenzy.
Churning the waters, sea foam crashed onto the ships carrying with them a deluge of monsters made out of a chaotic conglomerate of different deep sea species all with a distinct hunger of the flesh.
And who knows how it happened, but suddenly, a blazing white flame that seemed to freeze yet burn at the same time quickly covered the surface of the waves.
Clinging to the ships, they froze its outer surface and ate at the wooden hulls.
Crackling loudly as they consumed the ships, just as suddenly as the flames began, the ice stopped moving.
Eyes widening through the sea foam crashing against the ships, the monsters screeched and called loudly, flailing their limbs as they quickly crawled off of the ships.
Ignoring the delicious two legged beings that were on the verge of death and ignoring the danger the strong two legged beings could put onto them, their instincts cried out to them.
And they said they needed to run
Staring at the retreating tide of monsters, the black cloudy sky split apart.

The eye of Cthulhu was... a paradoxical existence.
Since I knew for a fact that the eye of Cthulhu could go through the earth due to the limitations of 2 dimensional gameplay limitations I wasn't exactly surprised when it did so.
But, since it could phase through matter, the problem stands.
How does it hurt people?
And how did I hurt it?
Since I could use slime gel to cover its body in fire, I didn't really think about the matter.
Even when it was dead I just tossed that though to the back of my mind never to return.
But now that it was back, I had to ask the question.
How to properly hurt the eye of Cthulhu?
I mean I could just do the normal thing and grind it down to death just by making our battle one of attrition.
But that was boring and would actually have a likelier chance of me getting killed.
Not that it mattered since I could respawn, but if I'm going down, it's coming with me.
An ultimate fuck you I would say.
But nevertheless, the problem still stands.
How to kill the eye of Cthulhu before it kills me? On top of the chorus singer at the top of that.
And the conclusion I came up to was simple.
From what I could tell from the brief time that the Eye of Cthulhu went through my body, it basically converted its momentum into a force that could hurt me.
Conversely, the force that I put into my blows could cut its ephemeral body.
Which in lay mans terms means that with a significant enough force, I could hurt it.
In even simpler terms, I basically just had to hit it really, really hard and it would feel it.
Even if the eye of Cthulhu phased in and out of existence to attack me, since I could still attack it as it was attacking me meant that all I had to do.
Was create a force large enough that it couldn't ignore.
And as for the problem of the Chorus singer, all I had to do was just leap up into the sky where it couldn't reach me.
It also had the unintended bonus of allowing me more time to build up more momentum to charge at the eye of Cthulhu.
An unintended rock that hit two birds, a good deal I would say.
And the ancient guardian could hold the chorus singer still for me anyways.
Twisting through the air, a grin plastered on my face, I moved the cobblestone block to the tip of my blade.
Placing it onto the rapier, a makeshift hammer appeared before me.
One that was very fragile, but I wasn't done with it yet.
Staring at my hot bar filled with several stacks of cobble stone blocks, I grinned.
Placing block after block, I continued to fall faster and faster, swiftly reaching my own terminal velocity.
But that didn't mean I could go any faster than that.
Ram rune glowing on my heels, the horn shaped tattoo's glowed orange with the input of malaise all the while my makeshift hammer continued to grow.
Spanning half of my body, it grew.
And grew.
And Grew
And Grew
Feeling the clouds whip at my face as thin scars made from the crystallized ice particles floating int he clouds, I whizzed past the black clouds while spinning my hammer around.
Stone blocks leaving my inventory at light speed, my head spun.
Brain rattling in my skull as I continued to spin around faster and faster, the sky became a blur for me as the malaise flowing through my system continued to reforge it from the ground up.
Swallowing the blood welling up in my throat, my arms and hands became numb as the heavy weight
Bending under the pressure, I could see from the corner of my eye that the rapier was losing its durability quickly.
But who cares?
Bursting out of the cloud layer that covered the stratosphere, I caught sight of the eye of Cthulhu confusedly wandering around the upper areas of the troposphere.
Meeting its surprised eye, I swallowed the blood welling up in my throat and forced out a grin.
"Why greetings you glorified eye, meet my hammer."
Whipping around, gigantic hammer made out of 5 stacks of stone blocks met gigantic white fleshy eye of an eldritch god.
