Chapter 12 - The hell?

Maybe I should've gave the egg some space and put it someplace else.

Because just as it hatched a small explosion occurred and broke the bed.

Holding the small creature in my hands that was still just an egg but with a sharp mouth full of teeth and a pair of wings.

Sighing to myself I looked at the egg, which smiled at me.

"heh"

Patting the egg on the head I set it onto a pile of gel.

Before turning to the screen which suddenly appeared in front of me at the eggs hatching.

Reading the words on the screen, safe to say I was pleasantly surprised.

[As by now you have started to hatch your companion]

[So I feel the need to tell you a few functions that I haven't told you before]

[If you focus onto a certain item and allied characters]

[Then you can see a few stats]

[Oh yeah and you should be able to see how synchronized you are with your character.]

[Sincerely The God of Fun and Games ;p :D]

Chuckling half at the way the God of Fun was so childish and half at the annoyance of how useful such a function it would've been to have WAY earlier.

Seems like though because of my newfound companion I'll have to cut back on dying until I get a new bed.

It is quite disturbing actually that i got used to dying so quickly.

I looked at the egg.

[???] < Name

[Egg] < Species

[Hp 5/5] < Health Points

Well then.

Seeing that it was literally just called egg for it's species name I didn't know what to say.

And as it also had no name I decided that was the thing to acknowledge and talk about.

'Well aren't you a cutie'

Scratching the egg's top? Head? I don't know, the egg seemed to like it as it leaned into the scritching.

"So what should I call you?"

Grabbing a handful of gel from my inventory to place around the egg, and feeling the gels smooth consistency something just clicked.

"I'll call you..."

BOOOM!

"What the Hell!?"

As an explosion occurred behind me I instantly put the egg into my inventory.

"Sorry little buddy!"

And in its place I took a balanced blade, which was made out of copper,

Holding it across my chest I looked at the interloper that had been the cause for the destruction of my cabin.

And was subsequently surprised when I saw that there were people here.

The monsters they were fighting though were a familiar sight though.

But still, intelligent life! It was an absurdity that I couldn't witness since I literally died since I arrived here.

And then I decided to reside in the underground in the name of resource gathering.

"The Hell?"

---

"Kristina are you sure this is a good idea?"

A woman in leather armor topped with bits of iron plates rolled her eyes as she lifted her lamp lighting up the caves.

"Yeah, We just need to find the heart crystals and then we can go! Easy right?"

Holding a cross bow another woman with beastial features coughed to herself "That is if it exists - Cough-"

"Hmm? What did you say?" Tilting her head at her companions murmured words Kristina turned around.

"Nothing"

"Hey girls!"

"Yeah Amanda?"

"Is this natural?"

Covered in grey clothes that in the dark caves looked no different than the stone walls a woman pointed their dagger at the hole.

Seeing the two meter tall hole that was no different than any other hole except that they were perfectly cubic in shape.

The beastial woman nodded to herself. "Of course that's natural... If making things in cubic shapes is considered natural of course"

Shifting the bag on her shoulders the beastial woman snorted loudly.

"And if you couldn't tell through my superb acting skills, OF course that's unnatural!"

"Ok Rina, we get it"

Amanda crouched down and looked at the unnatural passageway which had a small explosion free the passageway.

"This should be an ancient ruin of sorts if this structure still exists."

"So are you guys coming or not?"

"Kristina!? When did you even get there!"

Shouting at their friend that had already left them and was walking down the incredibly unnatural passage way.

The two others quickly got down and ran to catch up to their friend.

Running down the hallways to chase after their friend.

It quickly devolved into running down the hallways to escape the monsters that filled the halls.

As things usually went.

Underground places which were abandoned were quickly filled with monsters.

Unless said places were greatly sealed.

Monsters of all kinds always found their way.

"Run faster!"

"I'm TRYING!"

Amanda ran at the front as her twin daggers danced across the air and sliced the zombies that blocked their ways every now and then.

Running at the back was Rina who occasionally turned around bumping her rather large sack onto the wall as she shot her crossbow.

Kristina quickly touched the both of them whenever they got injured and patched them up to optimal conditions.

A green and yellow energy leaving her body and shining within the darkness every time she touched them.

"There's an exit ahead!" Pointing at a light that glowed brighter as they neared.

Kicking a smaller zombie into the ground and crushing its head Amanda shouted.

"Well keep running then!"

Jumping over the zombie corpse Rina turned around one more time to shot a powerful bolt that pierced the flesh of several zombies.

Breaking through the very small horde formed out of zombies the three women got out of their predicament.

And a literal moving explosive called the creeper that was hissing loudly, flashing a brighter light as it undulated in size.

Kicking a literal moving explosive out it quickly exploded.

Causing a voice to sound out which was one that they most definitely didn't expect.

"The hell!?"

Glancing in surprise at the man who was the source of that voice in the remains of a normal house.

Kristina shouted "Did you perchance find any Heart Crystals!?"

"Not the focus here Kristina!" Loading her cross bow and letting it fire into the crowd of zombies.

Piercing through two zombies.

Amanda followed and swung both blades and cut several zombies at a time.

Rina stuck in reloading her crossbow shouted to the unknown man murmuring to himself while wielding a green blade "Sir! Can you help us!?"

"I shouldn't be asking myself my questions should I huh?"

Hearing Rina's words the man began to run forwards with vigor.

"Wait! What are you doing!?"

Seeing the man run straight into the middle of the zombie horde she shook her head.

"Ugh, he's dead now"

"You think I can see his corpse?"

"NOT THE SUBJECT KRISTINA!"

Rina spoke quietly to the two other women.

"I think that man is still alive?"

"What!? How!?"

Turning hurriedly to look at the place where the man seemed to suicide dive into.

She was incredibly surprised to see the man tearing through the undead horde formed of various zombies and skeletons.

"Oh wow" Mouth agape the woman absent mindedly shot an arrow and ended the zombies life.
