Chapter 119: Moving House
The cleaning work was completed in just one afternoon, and Yuta and Belldandy returned home before the rest of the family arrived.
"Welcome back, Yuta! Dinner is already being prepared, and it'll be ready soon," Sasha greeted Yuta enthusiastically as he stepped into the house.
Then, turning to Belldandy, she added, "Belldandy, go wash your hands and get ready to eat."
Belldandy, while eager to cook for Yuta, also enjoyed being out and about helping him.
Seeing Sasha handling the cooking, she felt the urge to contribute to the household.
"I'll help you," Belldandy offered Sasha.
Sasha smiled warmly. "No need, I can manage just fine on my own."
As Yuta entered the house, Hina ran up to him, beaming with excitement. "Uncle, so many kids at school were asking me about Sister Belldandy today! I told them she's Uncle's girlfriend!"
"Good job, Hina," Yuta said, patting her on the head. "Now, go and start packing up your toys. We'll be moving to a bigger house in the next few days, and you'll need to bring all your things with you."
Hina's long black hair, which seemed quite mature for her age, framed her bright, happy face. Yuta couldn't help but think that she would grow into a beautiful young woman.
"Are we really moving so soon?" Sasha asked, puzzled. "I have plans tomorrow, and Hina still has school. Wouldn't it be better to wait until the weekend?"
"I'd rather not wait," Yuta explained. "I've arranged for help, so it won't take long. Besides, Sora and the others won't be much help with the move anyway."
"What are you saying, Onii-chan? We're not useless!" Miu retorted, stepping into the room. She had overheard Yuta's comment and glared at him indignantly. "You could hire movers for the heavy stuff, but leave our things alone. We'll handle our own belongings this weekend."
"Handle it ourselves!" Hina chimed in, raising her fist and lightly punching Yuta's leg. "Hina will help move her own stuff too!"
Faced with Hina's energetic determination, Yuta couldn't bring himself to say no. He often found himself indulging her whims.
"Other than your personal belongings, there isn't much else to move," Yuta said thoughtfully. "I'll buy new furniture and appliances for the new place. I'd also like to leave this house as intact as possible. Tomorrow, Belldandy and I will check out the new house and start getting it ready."
Yuta didn't have much to pack himself, and Miu's words made him reconsider touching the family's belongings.
He wanted to respect the significance this house held for them.
Hina clapped her hands in excitement. "Then Hina will have two homes! One with Uncle and Sister Belldandy, and one with my sisters!"
Children often spoke without a filter, and Hina's comment left both Miu and Sasha feeling awkward.
"Hina! Come with me to watch TV upstairs. You can come back down for dinner later," Miu said with a sigh, gently pulling Hina along and leading her upstairs.
Sasha glanced at Yuta, puzzled. She still couldn't quite understand why, after Yuta had mentioned buying a house, he suddenly decided to move everyone to Belldandy's place instead.
Since Yuta seemed unwilling to explain, Sasha chose not to press the matter. Instead, she remarked, "I'll go finish cooking. Yuta, money doesn't come easily—make sure to spend wisely."
"Got it," Yuta replied. He was well aware of his financial situation and knew he needed to be cautious with expenses.
As Sasha headed to the kitchen, Belldandy sat on the couch with Yuta to watch TV. Feeling a bit uneasy, she asked, "Yuta, shouldn't I be helping out with something too?"
"Helping? Didn't we just finish a ton of work earlier?"
Yuta reminded her of the time they had just spent at the temple, sorting through and cleaning everything.
They had already done plenty, and now was their time to relax.
Belldandy glanced around the living room. It was spotless, with the floors gleaming from a recent cleaning, leaving no chores for her to tackle.
"I'd like to contribute at home," Belldandy admitted. "Is there anything you'd like me to do?"
Yuta couldn't think of anything specific. Seeing how restless Belldandy seemed, he suggested, "If you're bored, you can read a book or watch TV. I'm going to take a nap for now—just wake me up when dinner's ready."
Not planning to sleep for long, Yuta didn't bother heading to his room.
Instead, he stretched out on the couch, clearly exhausted from the day's activities.
Between rescuing someone earlier and the afternoon cleaning spree, he hadn't had a moment to properly rest.
It wasn't long before he drifted off.
Belldandy, still searching for something meaningful to do, wasn't interested in watching TV.
She found herself gazing at Yuta as he slept.
Seeing him resting uncomfortably on the couch without a pillow, she moved closer.
Kneeling on the sofa beside him, she carefully lifted his head and placed it on her lap, turning her legs into a makeshift pillow.
"This way, he'll sleep more comfortably," Belldandy murmured softly, her face glowing with affection as she watched over him.
Not only did this make Yuta rest more comfortably, but it also gave Belldandy something to do—something that brought joy to both of them. This made Belldandy genuinely happy.
However, while Belldandy was happy, others were not…
When Sasha came out of the kitchen carrying a dish, she froze at the sight of Belldandy giving Yuta a lap pillow.
Belldandy, noticing Sasha's gaze, smiled at her warmly. It wasn't a mocking smile but a genuinely friendly one. Yet, given the situation, expecting Sasha to feel happy was asking for the impossible.
Sasha raised her eyebrows slightly but restrained herself from saying anything. After all, someone would eventually wake Yuta.
Belldandy observed Sasha closely and noticed that her emotional aura was a mix of red, yellow, and blue.
Red indicated anger, yellow was happiness, and blue represented sadness. Belldandy couldn't quite figure out whether Sasha was happy or upset.
Sasha quickly returned to the kitchen, and shortly after, Sora came downstairs for dinner. Upon seeing Yuta resting on Belldandy's lap, she exploded.
"ONII-CHAN!!!"
Belldandy immediately saw Sora's emotions shift to a bright red—pure anger. However, in just a moment, that anger turned to a deep blue, reflecting sadness.
Yuta, startled by Sora's sudden outburst, opened his eyes in a panic.
The first thing he saw was Belldandy's gentle face watching over him.
This position…
"You're awake. Sora seems to have something urgent to talk to you about," Belldandy said with concern as she glanced at Sora, who looked troubled.
Sora, biting her lip and glaring at both Yuta and Belldandy, abruptly turned and stormed back to her room.
"Onii-chan is the worst!!" she yelled as she disappeared upstairs.
