Chapter 112: Suzu's Overthinking
"Alright, be careful now." After Yuta ran to the infirmary while carrying Sayoko, he gently placed her on the examination bed. "Lie on your side for now; it should feel more comfortable."
Sayoko had actually recovered by this point, but upon realizing that Yuta was concerned about her, she nodded in agreement.
The school nurse, a woman, impatiently shut the door of the infirmary, blocking all the boys who had followed them outside.
"Really! Boys these days have no self-control; they can't move when they see a pretty woman!" the nurse remarked while glancing at the three of them in the room, then walked over to Yuta.
Yuta sized up the nurse. She didn't look like a teacher and had a youthful figure, but there was something strange about the impression she gave him—she didn't seem like an average student.
The nurse smiled at Yuta. "Your physique is not as weak as it appears, and your eyes are quite nice. It's been a while since I've seen such pure eyes."
"I think you should check on the patient first before praising my eyes," Yuta said, stepping aside. He then looked quizzically at Belldandy. "Do I really look like a child?"
Belldandy looked at Yuta in confusion, not understanding his thoughts. "Not at all. The nurse is complimenting you for being a good person."
Yuta didn't consider that to be a genuine compliment, so he moved to the side, curious to see if his eyes truly were that pure, wondering why he hadn't noticed it while washing his face.
Sayoko, looking at the nurse, said irritably, "Are you really the school nurse? I've never seen you before!"
The nurse smiled at Sayoko, "You don't look like someone who often gets injured. But I actually just started this job a few days ago. Don't let my youthful appearance fool you; in front of me, you're all just little girls!"
Belldandy heard this but didn't respond, thinking the nurse wasn't talking to her, and she didn't mention that she was much older than her.
Yuta heard the remark but held his tongue as well.
Those mortals just don't understand; a goddess has no age limitations!
Well, Belldandy's apparent age was twenty-one, two years older than Yuta.
To Yuta, being older by two or three years was definitely not a drawback!
As for the nurse behaving like an elder in front of him and Belldandy, Yuta could only think of one phrase to describe her: "overestimating herself."
The nurse didn't know the situation with Belldandy and Yuta. After briefly assessing Sayoko's condition, she casually said, "It's nothing serious; it's not even a minor injury. You can leave."
Even though Sayoko felt she was fine, she didn't appreciate the nurse's attitude.
"What kind of attitude is that? Even if I'm fine, can't I just lie down and rest for a bit?"
Sayoko had intended to have a proper chat with Yuta here, so she was quite displeased when the nurse hurried them along. Who did she think she was, running this school?
The nurse nonchalantly walked over to a chair at her desk and sat down. "Ah, the daughter of a wealthy family. You can lie down if you like; I don't mind. It feels nice to have a willful girl here to talk to this old lady."
"Old lady? How old are you?" Sayoko squinted at the nurse, feeling that this person looked no older than fifteen or sixteen, but surely someone that age couldn't hold a job in this place!
"A woman's age is a secret," the nurse replied with a smile, maintaining an advantage in both speech and demeanor despite looking younger than Sayoko.
Yuta also turned his attention to the nurse, curious about her. Unable to determine her actual age, he looked over at Belldandy.
Belldandy could sense the nurse's true age but didn't want Yuta to engage with her; the nurse had an aura of resentment surrounding her.
"Yuta, shall we go?" Belldandy suggested, still wanting to move to a different place with him.
Yuta found it odd that Belldandy hadn't greeted the nurse, but since she wanted to leave, he saw no reason to stay.
"Hey! Wait up, I'm coming too!" Sayoko had no interest in sticking around to chat with this unclear-age woman; her focus was still on Yuta.
Yuta didn't want Sayoko following them. "Sayoko, you should stay here and rest. Belldandy and I have things to do."
"It's fine, I'm really fine now! To thank you, Yuta, how about we go get lunch together?" Sayoko proposed, feeling grateful for Yuta's earlier help and wanting to spend more time with him.
Hearing this, the nurse smiled and said, "I'm done here as well, and since I've already checked you out, how about inviting me along for lunch?"
"Sorry, but I'm not interested in inviting someone whose name I don't even know to lunch." Sayoko huffed, making it clear she wasn't fond of the nurse.
The nurse continued to smile, unfazed by Sayoko's attitude, and didn't seem offended. "I'm Suzu Shutou. You can call me Suzu."
"Don't act so familiar! Just eat your work meal here by yourself!" Sayoko snapped at the nurse, her temper flaring when dealing with someone trying to act like an adult in front of her. But as she turned to Yuta, her demeanor softened. "Yuta, let's go."
Being pulled along by her amiable nature, Yuta had no choice but to follow her out.
After Yuta and Sayoko left, Belldandy took a moment to glance at Suzu, politely greeting her before stepping out.
As Suzu watched Belldandy leave, her smile faded. She picked up a paper fan from the desk and began to think seriously.
Compared to Yuta and Sayoko, Suzu was more concerned about the seemingly gentle Belldandy.
For some reason, Belldandy gave her a strange feeling—an unpressured pressure.
It was a sensation of not feeling any immediate danger while simultaneously being aware that she was in a potential perilous situation.
To put it simply, Belldandy seemed like a potentially lethal passerby with no hostility.
"Is she my enemy...?" Suzu thought as she half-opened her eyes, lightly pressing the paper fan against her cheek, contemplating Belldandy's purpose in infiltrating the school.
