Chapter 107: How to Fill a Room
The atmosphere in the room was somewhat subtle; those who understood it knew, and those who didn't had no need to.
After Raika entered, she was captivated by Belldandy, her gaze fixed on her.
Belldandy did not possess the kind of cuteness associated with children. When others praised her for being cute, it was more because of her beauty!
Beauty is not merely about being attractive or good-looking; it's about a feeling!
Raika did not know much about Belldandy. After a brief observation, she sighed with relief regarding Yuta and looked forward to what would come next.
"Being with Yuta always leads to interesting experiences." Raika casually mentioned this, often speaking in a way that others found hard to understand, which was why few approached her at school.
Belldandy thought Raika was a good person and was pleased that everyone she met today radiated goodwill.
"Hello, I'm Belldandy," she introduced herself, wanting to get to know Raika.
Raika tilted her head, quietly watching Belldandy, and made an adorable sound, "Stare—"
"Raika, just look and don't say it out loud, okay? Who's like you?" Yuta said to Raika, "Just properly introduce yourself!"
Raika nodded, as if she understood Yuta's words.
"Yuta seems to really like older women; I'll make a note of that."
After saying this to herself, Raika turned to Belldandy and said, "Nice to meet you, I'm Oda Raika."
"Hello, I'm Belldandy," Belldandy repeated her name.
Raika looked at Belldandy's smile, puzzled as to why she was smiling; she was not someone who needed a smile to perceive others' kindness.
Though she didn't say much, Raika felt that Belldandy was not a bad person, and she was different from Aoi and Kaoruko.
Seeing that everyone had introduced themselves, Yuta said, "Let's go inside and chat. By the way, Sasha, what happened to you? Your face is all messed up."
"Ah! Really? Why didn't you say anything sooner!" Sasha exclaimed loudly. Remembering how she had rubbed her eyes while crying, she shyly covered her face, turned, and rushed upstairs. "I'm going to fix my makeup!"
Raika looked at Belldandy and decided it was necessary for her to tidy up her appearance as well, so she stepped outside.
"Yuta, I'm going too," Raika said seriously, speaking in a way that Yuta found difficult to understand.
Yuta didn't grasp what Raika meant, and her words were easily open to misinterpretation.
"Feel free; no need to be polite."
After receiving Yuta's consent, Raika walked out. Miu also left alongside Sasha, as she, too, was very conscious of her appearance in front of Yuta.
After everyone had gone, Belldandy looked at Yuta, puzzled, and asked, "Yuta, should I go too?"
"No need; let's prepare dinner together," Yuta suggested when he saw that Belldandy had nothing to do. He turned and headed towards the kitchen. "Come on!"
Belldandy smiled and followed him, enjoying the feeling of being with Yuta.
Once they both donned their aprons, Yuta took ingredients out of the fridge and taught Belldandy how to wash them. He asked with concern, "What do you think of everyone?"
"They're all really good people. Just now, Miu and Miss Sasha were so happy that they cried. I'm glad that they can face those who care about them sincerely," Belldandy replied, expressing her positive impression of everyone.
Yuta had noticed this when he came in; the distance between Sasha and Miu had seemingly vanished, and it looked like they had indeed cried for a while.
Feeling genuinely relieved that the two could be open with each other, Yuta said to Belldandy, "Did you say something to them? I was actually wondering how to encourage Miu to accept Sasha, but I'm not very good at talking to girls, so I never knew what to say."
"Um—" Belldandy elongated the sound and shook her head. "No, I didn't say anything to Miu. I think Miu has realized Miss Sasha's concern for her."
"That might be it, but I still feel it has something to do with you, Belldandy. Aren't you the goddess of fortune?" Yuta maintained that this situation was related to Belldandy; otherwise, Miu wouldn't have suddenly become understanding.
Belldandy replied earnestly, "I strictly adhered to our agreement and didn't use any magic."
"Alright, I believe you. But the agreement we made was to make things convenient for both of us. If you think using magic would benefit both of us, then feel free to do so. I'm not that rigid."
Yuta didn't want to pressure Belldandy. "Belldandy, can you help me cut the tomatoes?"
"Okay!" Belldandy quickly shifted her focus and happily joined Yuta in cooking.
In contrast to the harmonious cooperation in the kitchen, things were less agreeable elsewhere.
"Yuta, I'm going to use some makeup." Even though Yuta wasn't in the room, Raika spoke to the air and began examining and applying the makeup products in front of the mirror.
"Could you go somewhere else? I can lend you some makeup, but please don't just stand here!" Sasha, annoyed by Raika crowding her space and the mirror, felt frustrated.
It was her makeup that Raika was using, yet she was acting as if it belonged to Yuta.
"Please! Sasha-nee, I need to wash my face! Give me some space!" Sora felt increasingly pressured. The only way to showcase her charm quickly was to avoid falling too far behind.
Sasha wasn't about to relent. "Sora, Miu, Raika! Let me have half of the mirror! This is my important makeup time!"
"I'm just styling my hair; it'll be quick!" Miu knew she had little hope, but she felt that making herself look pretty, even just a little, was essential for a beautiful girl.
Looking at the crowded bathroom, Sora exclaimed, "There's no way four people can fit in here! Miu, can you wait a bit? Sasha-nee, use the vanity on the second floor!"
"Don't say silly things, Sora! The lighting here is just right! I can't back down!" Sasha stood her ground.
"Even if you say that, the bathroom can really only fit two people!" Sora said anxiously; this house felt too small!
This time, Raika didn't follow Sora's lead but spoke seriously. "Sora, lighting is very important for makeup. We can't compromise on that, and I'm the same."
"Exactly! But Raika, you already look great, so just hurry and go out!" Sasha tried to push Raika aside.
"Agreeing on the lighting for makeup does not mean I'm siding with you," Raika stated plainly. Although she wasn't very talkative, she was still a girl who cared about her appearance!
Before they could argue further, Hina ran in with a distressed expression. "Sister, Mr. Rabbit is dirty, and I want to give him a bath."
"Hina, wait a moment! Miu, can you help Hina?" Sora quickly delegated the task to Miu.
Miu huffed, "Mom, why don't you help Hina instead?"
"Raika, are you free right now?"
....
Hina glared angrily at the few people in the room and stormed out to find her uncle!
While cooking, Yuta quickly learned about the commotion in the makeup room from the upset Hina. After hearing her, he glanced at Belldandy, who seemed to be someone who didn't need makeup.
"Hmm? Is there something on my face?" Belldandy noticed Yuta looking at her and became a bit self-conscious.
Yuta smiled and shook his head, and even from the kitchen, they could hear the noise coming from upstairs.
"No, it's just that it feels like our family is getting livelier."
