Chapter 105: Gathering of the Mahjong Team
Every few days, the Yuta Cup Mahjong Tournament would start up again. This time, the seeded player was Belldandy, known as the "Goddess of Fortune."
The other players lined up were: Sora Takanashi, still sulking upstairs; Sasha, who hadn't returned home; and Raika Oda, who hadn't yet arrived.
"I'll go pick them up. You and Hina can play for a bit, and I'll be back soon," Yuta said as he rolled out his car, this time heading to bring over Raika, the one person who could soothe Sora.
Yuta felt like a monkey on a rescue mission…
"Belldandy, I won't trigger any compulsive force by going out for a while, right?" Unsure of how strong the force might be, he wanted to clear up any doubts beforehand.
Belldandy replied, "There shouldn't be a problem. Compulsive force only kicks in when resistance is encountered, and under normal circumstances, it won't activate. As long as you stick to your original wish, Yuta, you'll be fine."
With Belldandy's reassurance, Yuta felt relieved. He turned to Hina, who was deeply focused on her play, and said, "Hina, take good care of the house, okay?"
"Got it! Belldandy-nee, let's go play!" Hina, unlike Sora, didn't have the same girlish thoughts—her mind was still on having fun, and she quickly grew close to Belldandy.
To Hina, Belldandy was a beautiful, friendly big sister.
Belldandy was a bit worried about Yuta, and once he left, she felt slightly uneasy, wishing she could go with him.
But Hina needed someone to look after her, so to put Yuta's mind at ease, Belldandy decided to stay and help out.
After changing clothes, Miu came downstairs and, seeing Belldandy playing games with Hina, walked over to chat with her.
"Hina, big sister Sora is upset in her room. Could you go cheer her up?" Miu knelt down and mentioned Sora to Hina.
Hina, hearing that Sora was upset, nodded obediently. "Okay! I'll go find big sister Sora!"
Once Hina ran upstairs, Miu apologized to Belldandy. "I'm sorry, Belldandy-nee. My sister was a bit out of sorts today. She should be better soon."
"It's alright. Did I do something wrong that made her upset?" Belldandy was genuinely concerned, wanting to improve her relationship with Sora.
Miu smiled and shook her head. "No, Belldandy-nee, you didn't do anything wrong. The one at fault is Onii-chan."
Hearing that, Belldandy grew even more concerned. "Did Yuta do something wrong?"
"Onii-chan didn't really do anything wrong… I... I'm not even sure how to explain it. It's nothing, really, so don't worry about it," Miu said, unable to put it into words and changing the topic. "By the way, where's Onii-chan?"
Belldandy's worry lingered. "Yuta went out to pick someone up. A young lady named Raika Oda."
Miu sighed. "Onii-chan is trying to set up another mahjong game today, isn't he..."
After her remark, Miu turned to Belldandy with curiosity. "Belldandy-nee, what's your relationship with Onii-chan? Are you classmates?"
"No, Yuta and I share a relationship where we'll always be together," Belldandy said simply, explaining her bond with Yuta.
For Belldandy, it was a straightforward answer, but Miu didn't see it as that simple.
A relationship where they're always together? That definitely isn't something you'd hear between classmates or relatives. It must mean… she's his girlfriend!
Looking at this beautiful woman in her early twenties, Miu noticed that, while Belldandy was attractive, she wasn't the sort who boasted a stunning figure.
To Miu and Sora, Belldandy's build was good but not outstanding. Yet, her appeal didn't come from her looks or figure—it was her warm smile that made her so captivating.
She was the kind of woman who could make anyone feel at ease, someone truly lovable. This was precisely what unsettled Sora.
Inwardly, Miu sighed. Onii-chan has found his happiness, hasn't he…
"Alright, I get it! I support you, Belldandy-nee!" Miu gave Belldandy a thumbs-up and a smile, saying, "I'll help explain things to my sister. Besides us three sisters, there's someone else in the family, who should be back soon."
Accepting that she couldn't be Yuta's chosen one, Miu decided she didn't want to cause him any trouble over her feelings. As long as everyone could be together, that was enough.
"My mom will be back soon. I'll introduce her to you," Miu offered, now that she had accepted Sasha into the family. Over the past days, Sasha's support for the three sisters had finally made Miu accept her.
Had it not been for her initial resistance to the idea of Sasha and Yuta getting married, Miu would have warmed to her sooner.
Belldandy noticed the hidden sadness behind Miu's smile as she looked over at Sasha. "Thank you, but are you sure you're alright?"
"I'm fine. Belldandy-nee, are you sure it's okay for you to live with us?" Miu continued to chat with Belldandy, curious about her circumstances.
Belldandy replied, "I'll always be with Yuta, and he's said he wants everyone to be together."
Miu sighed, accepting the situation. Whether Belldandy was Yuta's girlfriend or not, as long as she could stay close to Yuta, that was enough for her.
"Belldandy-nee, you should be careful. There are a lot of girls who like Onii-chan," Miu said to Belldandy, advising her to pay attention when they play cards tonight.
Belldandy didn't quite understand what Miu meant, but she picked up on something else and innocently asked, "Miu, do you like Yuta too?"
At this, Miu's usual mature demeanor vanished. She glanced to the side, too flustered to look at Belldandy, her face flushed and a nervous sweat appearing.
"Of course Miu likes Onii-chan too! But don't tell him, or he'll get all smug about it." She turned her head away, pretending to be calm.
Just then, a sound came from outside. Relieved, Miu quickly rushed to the door. "I'll go get it!"
