Chapter 94: The Well-Behaved Hina
Saturday Morning.
Oda Raika arrived at Yuta's home dressed in casual clothes. After pressing the doorbell for two or three seconds, she saw someone come out.
"Hello!" Miu rushed out and smiled upon seeing Raika. "You look beautiful, big sister! I'm Miu. Onii-chan is cooking, so let me take you inside!"
Miu didn't dislike all women nor did she have strong animosity towards them; Kaoruko was the exception—she didn't like her when they met.
While she had little to say to Aoi Kiriyama, that was primarily due to Aoi's own demeanor; she often appeared cold and would even be quiet when talking to Hina, giving off an air of not wanting to engage.
Because of that, Miu and Aoi had little conversation to share.
Raika looked at Miu, who was a cute child. "Hello, I'm Oda Raika. You can call me Raika."
"Raika-nee~ It's hot outside; come on in quickly!" Miu said, taking Raika's hand and leading her into the house.
Raika followed Miu inside without resisting. She wasn't particularly good at making conversation, and facing such a friendly child, she didn't have the heart to object.
Once inside, Raika saw the others in the room, including Aoi, who was sitting quietly and flipping through a magazine.
Aoi's presence was curious; Raika had no right to label her as someone who struggled to make friends.
Aoi was more skilled at conversation than Raika, but at that moment, she simply didn't want to engage, not because she couldn't talk to others properly.
While Raika was lost in thought, Hina came running over, cheerfully addressing the pretty lady she hadn't met before. "Welcome! Nice to meet you! I'm Hina, three years old—"
Hina raised three little fingers to signify her age.
Raika looked down at Hina, recognizing her as the child from Yuta's phone who matched her mental image of being adorably cute.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Oda Raika," she introduced herself formally to Hina.
Hina found it a bit strange that this beautiful older sister didn't comment on how well-behaved she was, nor did she smile at her. Was there something Hina did wrong?
"Hello," Hina replied, and then returned to playing with her dolls, furrowing her little brow as she seriously pondered what she might have done wrong.
Meanwhile, Yuta didn't see Hina's expression. At that moment, he walked out of the kitchen and called to Sora, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV. "Sora, come say hello before you continue watching."
Sora wasn't particularly interested in watching TV; she just didn't want to greet the pretty girl. Unlike Miu, Sora felt hostility toward these beautiful women who were on good terms with Yuta—they were her competitors!
However, at Yuta's request, Sora reluctantly walked over and, with an unhappy expression, introduced herself to Oda Raika. "I'm the eldest daughter, Takanashi Sora. Please take care of me!"
After saying that in a huff, Sora turned and walked out, showing a blatant lack of manners.
Yuta didn't comment on her behavior and turned to Raika, saying, "Don't mind her; she's not usually like this."
Raika didn't pay much attention to Yuta's words; instead, her eyes were fixed on the angry and displeased Sora, and she found her adorable.
"So cute…"
Looking at Sora, Raika thought she was the cutest child she had ever seen, not just because of her appearance, but also her adorable demeanor and emotions. The way Sora expressed her dislike through childish behavior was truly endearing!
"Yuta... can you give me these kids?" Raika looked at Yuta, really wanting to take all three children home with her.
Yuta smiled and replied gently, "No, you can't."
After all, there were more than a few people who wanted to be these kids' mother.
However, as for wanting to be a father, there was currently only one candidate; even Hina wouldn't call him dad, which made Yuta a bit sad.
He glanced at Aoi, who was sitting quietly and seemed at home. He didn't say anything; that was just her demeanor, and she didn't seem to have any intention of getting along with the three sisters either.
"Raika, is it okay for you to watch TV here?" Yuta asked, noticing that Raika seemed to like Sora. Although he didn't understand why, he decided to let Raika stay with Sora for a while.
Raika nodded, "Sure!"
Just as Yuta was about to go back and continue preparing lunch, Hina ran over and tugged on Yuta's clothes. "Uncle, squat down! Hina has something to tell you."
Yuta squatted down and looked at Hina, who seemed a bit upset. He asked curiously, "What's wrong, Hina? Did you pinch your fingers?"
"No! Uncle, did Hina do something wrong?" Hina shook her head and cautiously looked at Yuta.
Yuta couldn't remember Hina doing anything wrong that day, so he said, "Did you sneak a popsicle from the fridge again? Uncle forgives you. There, are you happy now, little glutton?"
"Hina didn't sneak anything!" Hina was very upset; she wasn't a little glutton.
Yuta trusted Hina and continued, "Then did Hina wet the bed again today? Don't worry, Uncle won't tell anyone."
"No, no! It's not that!" Hina quickly denied it. To avoid being wrongly accused, she asked, "Uncle, why don't the two older sisters like Hina today?"
So that's what it was. Yuta smiled upon hearing this and said, "That's not true; the two older sisters like Hina very much today; they just don't say it out loud. The one with short hair is a quiet person, so don't bother her. The one with long hair wants to be friends with you; why don't you go over and play with her?"
Both of these women were problematic in their own ways.
Oda Raika was the type of person with few expressions, and her way of communicating was somewhat indifferent.
As for Aoi Kiriyama, she didn't actually have any issues on the surface; she simply didn't want to interact with the Takanashi sisters and didn't have the same fondness for children as other girls did.
With her uncle's explanation, Hina regained her confidence and nodded seriously.
"Then Hina will be a good girl! After being a good girl, I'll go play!"
Yuta smiled. "But Hina, you can't do that; you can't ignore Raika-nee just because you get a compliment."
"But Hina is very busy! Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Bear are still waiting for me!" Hina had her own games to play; she was a big busy person!
Yuta needed to get back to cooking, so he said to Hina, "Then you should spend some time with Raika-nee. After that, Uncle will treat you to strawberry ice cream, okay?"
"Okay! Then Hina will reluctantly agree," Hina replied, mimicking Miu's tone. Miu often spoke to Yuta like that.
"Good, Hina is really well-behaved!" Yuta praised her.
