Chapter 93: How Should I Repay You?
Hina was very interested in the motorcycle and, even though she couldn't go out, she wanted to sit on it and play.
"Uncle, can I ride this beautiful bike in the future?" Hina, still limited in vocabulary, praised everything as "beautiful," whether it was a person or an object.
Yuta nodded and smiled, saying, "Of course! This motorcycle is meant to take you to school, so even in winter or rain, our family can stay nice and clean while going to school."
Although it was meant to be reassuring, Hina's expression shifted to one of fear as she cautiously looked at Yuta. "Do we have to go to school on rainy days...?"
Yuta chuckled at Hina. "So, you're a lazy girl, huh? You don't want to go to kindergarten when it rains?"
"Not at all! I love kindergarten! There are so many little friends!" Hina didn't want her uncle to think of her as a lazy child; she was very particular about her image.
Sora, standing nearby, smiled at Yuta and said, "When Sora is around unfamiliar people, I'm very obedient. But after I get to know them, I become lazy. You must be familiar with your kindergarten friends now."
"That's not true! Hina has always been very well-behaved!" Hina shot a glare at Sora, then cautiously turned back to her uncle. "Uncle, Hina is a good girl!"
"Yes, Hina is the best~" Yuta placed Hina on the side seat of the motorcycle. "We're having guests at the house tomorrow, so you have to be on your best behavior, okay?"
Hina nodded earnestly. She wanted to show her cutest side to make a good impression on her uncle's friends, hoping they would all say: "Hina is so pretty and well-mannered!"
Miu, overhearing this, directly asked, "Guests? Are they your friends, Onii-chan?"
"They're classmates, and Miss Kiriyama will be coming over too. I'll take care of things," Yuta replied, aware that Miu and Sora didn't particularly like Aoi Kiriyama, but he chose not to comment on it.
Having a girlfriend is a good thing for Sora and Miu, and Yuta didn't want them to develop personalities like Aoi's.
Yuta didn't want to point out Sora and Miu's feelings directly or refuse them outright, as that could affect the two girls who were going through puberty.
To avoid causing awkwardness or serious consequences, Yuta hoped to gradually change perceptions, helping everyone to accept certain things over time.
"Onii-chan, what's your relationship with Miss Kiriyama? Why does she keep coming to our house?" Sora asked, suspiciously eyeing Yuta, feeling that their relationship was more than ordinary.
Yuta calmly explained, "We're good friends. You two little girls shouldn't overthink it. And Miu, since Sasha has been working so hard lately, can't you talk to her nicely? She had her reasons for what happened back then."
Although Sora knew that Yuta was trying to change the subject, she didn't say anything and instead joined him in persuading Miu.
"Yeah, Sis Sasha is a really nice person and has always cared about you a lot, Miu."
Not wanting to discuss it further, Miu irritably walked out. "I'm going to study in my sister's room! Call me when it's time to eat!"
Hina, oblivious to the situation, was running around inside, placing her important stuffed animals on the motorcycle seat and pretending to play house.
Seeing Hina playing by herself, Yuta turned to Sora and said, "Sora, I need to talk to you about something."
"Okay." Sora followed Yuta to the living room. Once seated, she looked at him, eager to know what it was about.
After sitting down, Yuta said, "This house is a bit small. In a few years, when Hina grows up, she'll need her own room. Plus, Sasha and I both need a car. I'm thinking of buying a bigger house with a garage and more rooms."
"Buying a house…" Sora's expression turned difficult as she looked at Yuta. "I might not know much about it, but isn't buying a house really expensive? This house isn't small, do we really need to replace it?"
"No, you might have misunderstood. I don't intend to sell this house; the ownership still belongs to you. I'm just planning to buy a bigger house in addition to this one."
Yuta had no intention of selling their current home. This house was left behind by Sora's parents, and it belonged to the three sisters; he wouldn't touch it even if he were short on money.
"But can we afford it?" Sora asked. She didn't want to leave their current home, but if Yuta felt it was necessary, she'd trust his judgment.
As long as Sora didn't oppose the idea, things would go much more smoothly.
"My manuscript payment is coming in this month, and the novel's adaptation into an anime will bring in some extra income. Plus, there's other money coming in, so buying a house isn't a problem. You don't have to worry about that."
Yuta had discounts on buying houses, allowing him to purchase one at a lower price, so he wouldn't need to spend too much.
Sora felt much more reassured. "Okay, if you think it's a good idea to buy, then let's go ahead! But where do you plan to buy it?"
Yuta hadn't made a decision yet.
"I'm considering buying a house near the school. Hina is doing well at her kindergarten, and she'll be in elementary school for six years, so I want to buy a house near a good elementary school. That will benefit her in the future."
"Miu is about to enter junior high, and you'll be entering high school soon, so it'll also be more convenient to choose good schools nearby."
Typically, good schools have connections that allow students to progress smoothly to higher-level institutions, sometimes even without exams. Yuta had thought about Sora and Miu's situations as well, and the location for the new house was considered with this in mind.
Sora felt a warmth in her heart. "Thank you, Onii-chan! You've always been considering us, and I appreciate your care for us!"
"Don't be so formal! I enjoy being with you all as well. If it were just me, I'd probably still be lying in that tiny room of less than ten square meters, wasting my days. Pressure brings motivation, and I'm happy now, so let's skip the pleasantries."
Yuta never viewed the three sisters as a burden; instead, they motivated him to move forward.
Looking at Yuta's smile and listening to his heartfelt words, Sora truly didn't know how else to repay him beyond committing herself to him.
But that was the frustrating part—there was too much competition!
