Emery frowned. Seeing this completely soured his mood before he even had a chance to react to it.
Of course, the rewards were good, but for a mission like this… was it really worth it? The punishment for failure was incalculable, but when it was put that way, he could really only imagine certain death waiting for him.
Other missions were normal, they had set boundaries and clear goals that he had to complete.
Kill ten beasts, open a restaurant, get a customer, and make a menu. These were all very easy goals to categorise and accomplish.
Dealing with an Anomaly, however, was filled with too many 'ifs'. He wanted absolutes here, but chances are, he was gonna stupidly attempt it and the next thing he knew, he'd be facing off against a Class Five threat.
And there was a large chance that this anomaly was stronger than that too. Something that could pierce through a 'planetary barrier', whatever it was, didn't exactly sound weak.
