Chapter 74 - Marital Problems

Emery didn't seem intent on spending any longer atop this building. Not only because it was high up, but because Freya generally made him feel unsafe.

But before he could indicate that he wanted down, she grinned at him slightly.

"Your little girlfriend seems angry at you,"

'Elyn?'

From the expression Freya wore on her face, she looked like she knew exactly what was wrong and how to solve it, but Emery would rather die before asking her for help. She was already indebted to him, but he couldn't become indebted to her at all.

"She's fine," he answered, unwilling to even give her a complete answer or something to confirm her suspicions.

Once that happened, she truly would have won.

"Oh, little boy. You don't have to lie to me. I can see it clear as day. I used to be a Marriage counsellor, you know."
