It wasn't an extremely complicated dish. In fact, it was in more than one way less complicated than the casserole from in the morning.
A simple bowl of rice with a side of beef sauce. Nothing more than that, but even with the simplicity, it still looked like a simply exquisite dish. The rice glistened brightly with a mysterious golden sheen.
The beef sauce didn't glisten or shine, but the smell seemed to rouse up a small tornado of spices and flavour.
And the craziest part about it? He hadn't used any beast when he made this. It was a simple dish made with normal ingredients, yet it somehow appeared far more exquisite than any of the other things he had made so far.
This bowl of rice in particular taught him something incredibly important in terms of cooking.
Simple, a lot of the time, was probably better than complex and nonsense.
