Chapter 3 - New Mission

What Victor saw was a true beauty. A long blonde hair that reaches her waist, a skin that looks too white that one might think she has never walked outside. She had a perfectly fit body. She was wearing a casual clothes, jeans and a simple t-shirt. Sitting as her long legs crossed, the girl was reading a book immersed in it without caring anything else.

Victor after admiring the beauty looked back at the mission.

The mission was hard as he could sense her not being interested anything other than the book she was reading. But Victor liked challenges and was hungry for the rewards.

She was about two seats away from him. Getting up and walking towards, Victor took a seat right next to her. He looked over at the book and started reading it. Reading a few sentences, he understood that this book was about undiscovered ideology. The book was talking about how everyone should be equal and how everyone should gain as much they contribute. Like, a politician who only talks and doesn't serve as he was supposed to gets less salary than a farmer. As he read for few minutes, Victor figured that the book was so unrealistic but it was okey.

Creating a new ideology wasn't something everyone could do. This book was the first step towards the communism. While he was reading the book, the owner of the book got uncomfortable with someone sitting next to her and reading her book without even asking. Thinking he would leave after few minutes she said nothing but the man kept reading and chuckling sometimes making her more uncomfortable. Getting frustrated she closes the book swiftly and turns to look at him and she gets her first shock by the face of this rude guy. His blue eyes shining and his lips which smiles a bit charmed her for few seconds before collecting her thoughts.

"Sir, you are bothering me. Please?" She said while motioning with her eyes for him to move but instead of leaving, the guy smiled a little more amused by her. Seeing him smile more while she is stating her discomfort made her angry.

"Why are you smiling?" She asked. He looked at her with smile and said slowly "Cause you are so cute." Victor regretted saying this after seeing her face getting ugly with each second. Looking at him with disgust in her eyes, she started packing up to go somewhere else. Victor understanding her intentions he tried his best to stop her from leaving.

"Okey, I'm sorry you are right i shouldn't have said that to someone i just met. It wasn't my intention, I just blurted it out. And I am also sorry for reading your book without asking. But I wondered what could make someone so immersed in a book like that. I guess you really like the idea of everyone being equal and making more money as they contribute more." He said scratching his head looking embarrassed. The girl stopped what she was doing and looked at him.

"Where's the apology for sitting right next to me without asking?" She asked him with her brows raised. Feeling her gaze Victor lowered his head and said. "I'm sorry for sitting right next to you without asking your permission." Which made her more calm. Turning her body slightly towards him she asked.

"Yes, I do like the idea. Why is someone who is born to the Royal family would be seen as someone higher. They are just humans like us. They are not genius they are not superior to us in terms of biology. It was all thanks to the monopolized education that separated people into two classes, Nobles and Commoners. Thousand years before today, the commoners had no access to the education. Only for religious educations which made people more dumb and easy to manipulate. Nobles on the other hand had education on various topics. Now tell me why should I think nobles as someone higher than me? The farmer is commoner, the guardsman watching over his country is commoner while nobles living a life full of luxury thanks to the God who choosed them to born into a noble family."

Listening her as she delve into the topic she always liked to talk, Victor would occasionally nod his head to show he was listening her carefully. She talked for a few minutes before feeling her mouth dry and taking out a bottle of water. Taking a sip she glanced at Victor. Taking advantage of her drinking water Victor starts talking.

"You are right, everyone should be equal. But doing it with the ideas provided with that book is not the right way. There should always be someone higher than the other, someone who could lead hundreds of people. Without a leader everything would be in chaos. Without the capitalism that most people cursing at, there would be less inventions, because some people invented things just for money. Than those inventions developed into something useful in daily life. It's the same as choosing to abandon weapons. While you develop something harmful, you discover things you wouldn't if not for the weapon. And those things you discovered sometimes would be a big step for world, leading them forward." Said Victor, looking from different perspective.

Hearing him say, she got angry that he was defending royalty and thinking him as a supporter of the royalty the conversation they were having turned into heated quarreling. After talking and quarreling for thirty minutes they stopped talking and just sat there while the girl folded her arms and turned towards her other side not looking at him.

This was really hard mission for Victor. He was mentally exhausted right now. Arguing with a woman was something akin to duelling with demon king without a weapon. While she had good intentions the way of thinking was wrong. Victor wanted to explain that to her but... He was accused as a traitor by her, she said anyone who supports royalty is people with gains or they are simply dumb. She wasn't wrong about that though.

Looking towards the cafeteria the lobby had Victor got up and walked towards it. Buying two coffee one with milk while the other being black coffee, he returned back to his seat.

"I bought you a coffee, let's make peace." he said, brows slightly raised, offering the coffee with milk. Glancing at him and the coffee, she replied "Deal." and took the offered coffee.

"My name is Victor, by the way. Here we were, quarreling all this time without even knowing each other's names." he said with a little chuckle, taking a sip from the black coffee.

"Nice to meet you, Victor. My name is Aria." she said, extending her hand for a handshake. Victor, recognizing her as if she was a noble lady, took her hand. Aria, looking at him with disgust, quickly withdrew her hand. This time, Victor burst into laughter, drawing the attention of those around them.

Engaging in conversation with Aria, Victor found himself deeply involved in discussions spanning various topics. Aria proved to be a highly knowledgeable person. The duo transitioned from discussing art to unexpectedly delving into conversations about weapons.

As time swiftly passed, it was soon time to board the plane. Victor managed to get her number just before stepping onto the aircraft. Finding his seat, he settled in and let out a deep breath. It had been tiring, but he felt it was worth the effort. The system made a "ding" sound the moment she shared her number.

After seeing the new section, Victor roughly guessed what it was about. Then decided to check it out.

The "Companions" section allowed him to check on both his current companions and those he was soon to befriend. Similarly, the "Summoned Soldiers" section displayed their mood and health. The interface featured two tabs—one listing his existing companions and the other displaying Aria. In Aria's tab, a progress bar indicated her trust level, currently set at 50%. %1-20~ indicated a lack of trust in him, %30-40~ suggested limited trust, while %50~ reflected a neutral level of trust. %60-80~ meant a growing sense of trust in him, and %90-100~ indicated complete trust in him. Which once the bar hits the %100 they would walk to their own death with him.

Victor had to make friends with the locals to have them join his team. Adding someone to his list meant earning their trust by convincing them that their goals aligned. If he wanted a companion who was into supporting royalty, he had to play it smart, making them believe he was all in for the royal cause.

Closing the system and getting himself comfortable on his seat he decides to take a rest.
