Avery slowly opened his eyes before sitting up and looking around at his surroundings. Where am I? He asked aloud to know one in particular. looking around he saw nothing but white, it was as if he was in an endless white void. The last thing he remembered was driving on the highway on the way back to his apartment after he had left school. That was before he suddenly lost control of his car and crashed into the back of an eighteen-wheeler and blacked out. this place definitely wasn't a hospital so did it mean he was dead?
That is correct young one, spoke a new voice from behind Avery. The voice sounded like one of a sage, it was calm and deep. Avery, hearing the voice, quickly turned around to find its source. behind he saw a tall man with long golden hair and eyes. The man wore a white and golden robe with white sandals. The man also seemed to be pretty young, Avery deduced as much looking at the young features of the man's face, he honestly looked no older than twenty-five. For the man to call him a young one when he looked barely older to him was confusing, but he didn't ponder on it long. Instead he asked the two questions that were on his mind. Who are you? Where am I? well to answer our first question, I am a god and for your second question, you are dead and your soul is in my domain. hearing the news Avery looked down a bit sad, he was now dead no longer part of the living. He had many hopes and dreams he wanted to accomplish in his life, one was becoming a politician. but that had all gone down the drain, his life had ended before it truly started. replaying the words from the man in his mind, Avery looked up as something dawned on him.
Wait, you just said that you are a god so does that mean you are here to judge me to see if I deserve to go up or down? Avery asked, a bit curious. He had done a few things that were bad in life but nothing that was terrible that would promise an absolute ticket to hell. the god hearing Avery's question chuckled a bit before speaking. No, nothing like that, I am not the kind of God that your world believes in or believes to be. I am not here to judge your soul, I am here to offer you another chance at life. Avery's attitude quickly lightened up at the chance to live again. but you will not be returning to your world, I will be sending you to a completely different one. Avery's face took on a bit of curiosity. the man was going to send him to another world, he didn't have any complaints against it, he just would be happy to live again. seeing Avery curious gave the god continued. I will send you to a world that is bigger and evolves around magic, monsters, kingdoms and power.
Hearing the god's world Avery completely perked up, his sad mood at being dead completely forgotten. This was like a fantasy dream come true, he didn't think such a thing would ever happen in reality but here he was. He had died and now a god was offering him a new life in a magical world. A world where he could become powerful, a world where he could build a kingdom for himself. I accept. Avery responded to the god without missing a heartbeat. very well was the response from the deity. but first you must select a race you would like to be in the new world. Here are your options. Suddenly in front of Avery a holographic screen appeared with a list of races to choose from. The world had quite a few races to choose from but only three caught his attention.
The first was a race known as [magical lich]. a being with a completely human skeletal appearance. They were skilled in the arts of magic. the level of their magical prowess depended on the potential of the lich. not all magical liches could become powerful. Also, they were physically strong and didn't require sleep, food or water to survive.
Second was something he already was, [a human]. Some humans could gain the ability to use magic, though physically weak compared to monsters, using magic to enhance their physical capabilities could be a game changer. but their potential in magic was far less compared to a magical lich.
The last race that piqued his interest was the [demon race]. The demon race was also skilled in the arts of magic and had a slightly higher potential in comparison to liches. They were also strong physically and came with a few benefits such as minor healing abilities.
Avery studied his choices and weighed his options. He really likes all three, he would love to have the magic prowess of a lich or demon but didn't want to take on the appearance. He wondered if the god could give him the benefits but allow him to keep a human appearance. as if the god could read his mind, he spoke Avery's internal thoughts. I could do that if you would like it's not like it would be impossible for him to do. that would be nice, Avery replied. his potential on how strong he could become would be exponentially higher. with conformation the god snapped his fingers and a gold aura surrounded Avery. After a few moments the aura disappeared, Avery felt like a new and different person despite looking the same appearance wise.
There was no need to question what the god had done; it was obvious. Now since that part is complete, I will give you something else that will be of great help to you. I will give you a system that will have many features that will help you become stronger and chase whatever goal you want to achieve in your new life. Avery nodded, still baffled that this all was really happening. With that being done you are ready to go. so good luck on your journey. the god then snapped his fingers and Avery disappeared. after he had sent Avery away the god smiled inwardly, that child will achieve great things in this world, he thought to himself.
