Even though Daenerys appeared calmer compared to someone encountering Bahamut for the first time, a sense of awe and unease lingered within her. The mysterious and formidable nature of Bahamut made her reconsider her identity as the Mother of Dragons. She gathered her courage and approached Bahamut, who greeted her with a smile.
"It's our first time meeting, Daenerys," Bahamut said, his voice carrying a tranquil yet powerful resonance.
Trying to conceal her unease, Daenerys responded, "Lord Bahamut, I've heard much about you. Your presence commands respect."
Bahamut nodded in acknowledgment, and a brief exchange of pleasantries followed. Curiosity mixed with apprehension as Daenerys ventured into a more intriguing aspect of Bahamut's existence.
"It's really intriguing to see a Lord taking a human appearance," she remarked.
Bahamut's gaze held a depth, said "I am more than a dragon, Daenerys. My purpose is intertwined with the destiny of this realm. Sometimes, a humanoid form allows for interactions that transcend the limitations of my draconic nature."
Intrigued yet cautious, Daenerys continued, "You can speak our language, understand our concerns. It's indeed magical to me. Much different from my children."
Bahamut smiled, acknowledging the uniqueness of his abilities. "Dragons are a force of nature, Daenerys. Their destinies are intertwined with the fate of the world. The key lies in understanding and harnessing their power wisely. I have achieved that, making me different and the King of Dragons."
Daenerys, still uncertain, nodded thoughtfully. "Your ways are beyond my understanding."
Bahamut's smile remained reassuring as the conversation concluded.
Turning his attention to Rhaenys, Bahamut found comfort in her smiling face. However, a tinge of disappointment crept in as he thought about her walking into the upcoming war, carrying both the hope and uncertainty of a child. Rhaenys, noticing Bahamut's mixed emotions, pointed to her bulging stomach and remarked, "Seems like we're having a new troublemaker."
Bahamut, expressing a mix of concern and jest, replied, "I thought you would act more mature with motherhood. It seems I'm wrong." In response, Rhaenys attempted to playfully pinch Bahamut's ears, only to discover that they had transformed into slightly different and pointier shapes—a change Bahamut had made, thinking it would look better.
Allowing her to have her playful moment, Bahamut shifted his gaze towards Aegon and inquired, "Have you prepared what I asked for?" Aegon nodded in affirmation. With a smile, Bahamut remarked, "Let's end this soon, as we have other matters to attend to." Aegon reciprocated the smile, signaling a shared understanding of the tasks that lay ahead.
Accompanied by Aegon, Rhaenys, and Daenerys, Bahamut made his way towards Winterfell. Eddard Stark, the lord of Winterfell, stepped forward to greet the arriving royalty. There was a palpable hesitation in Eddard's demeanor, especially as he prepared to face Rhaenys, who had confronted him fiercely back in King's Landing. Rhaenys, on her part, maintained a composed exterior, exuding an aura befitting royalty. She recognized the impulsiveness of her past actions and sought to remain calm in the present.
As Bahamut exchanged pleasantries with Eddard, his keen eyes scanned the crowd for another dragon, a member of House Targaryen, who had been hiding among the people. In mere moments, Bahamut identified Jon's presence, standing among the crowd with Ygritte by his side. Sensing Bahamut's gaze, Jon braced himself for the impending confrontation. Without a moment's hesitation, Bahamut employed his magical abilities, causing Jon to float from the crowd towards the front.
The onlookers displayed a range of reactions—confusion, lack of surprise, and stunned disbelief—as Jon was moved by an unseen force, creating an air of tension that hung over the scene.
Aegon, Rhaenys, and Daenerys observed the unfolding scene, each with their own thoughts on the matter. Jon, meeting the eyes of Aegon, Rhaenys, and the one who caused trouble for him, Bahamut, knew that this encounter was inevitable. Aegon, with a wry smile, broke the silence, "Jon Snow, the man who needs no introduction, but here we are."
Jon, acknowledging the gravity of the situation, replied with a nod, "Your Grace."
Rhaenys, though maintaining her composed demeanor, didn't hold back from acknowledging her half-brother's presence. To the surprise of both Jon and Aegon, she approached Jon and embraced him. "Since I learned about you, I have been waiting for you," Rhaenys said with genuine warmth, stunning Jon Snow. Even Aegon hadn't expected that she would be so open to her long-lost brother. Jon found it hard to find words; he knew she was his sister, someone he had never known. In response, all he could do was hug her back, a silent acknowledgment of the newfound connection between them.
