Vida ignored the second prince's snarky remarks and focused on Amara again. She stole her dazed attention by knocking lightly on the wooden table. Amara, jolted from the noise, languidly shifted her head to look at Vida.
Upon seeing her friend's weary look, Vida hesitated to bring up another topic. She glanced outside the window before giving Azer a knowing glance.
"Should we retire for the night?" Azer brought up.
Vida nodded in agreement, "Let's do that. We can talk about the rest tomorrow. I'm leaving now, Amara. Rest well."
Vida stood and walked to the back door next to the kitchen, but stopped and whirled back. She headed in the opposite door to Amara's room. She heard the sound of a tongue clicking and she knew exactly where it came from.
Why is the dog upset if she uses her room? Vida rolled her eyes and reached for the doorknob.
