"How about we exchange coffees." Tina said to her suddenly.
Ms. Mary looked towards her in confusion as she wondered why she would suggest that.
"is it that you don't trust me." Ms. Mary asked her.
Tina was quiet and Ms. Mary took that as her answer. She couldn't help but chuckle as she shook her head at the words.
"Do you really think that I would poison you. If I would I wouldn't have done it with coffee." Ms. Mary said to her.
Tina hummed at her in response not convinced.
"I just think that yours looks better and if you really haven't done anything to the cup then you would have no trouble giving me yours and drinking mine instead." Tina said to her firmly.
Ms. Mary gave her a tight lipped smile as she watched tina drop the cup onto the table and raise an eyebrow at her waiting for her.
Ms. Mary couldn't help but chuckle as she lifted up the other cup into her hand.
"you really must be paranoid if you think that I would do something like that to you. that explains why you have been walking around on eggshells since you got here. well you should know that you don't have anything to worry about." Ms. Mary assured her.
"Really you thought I would what murder you and dump you somewhere." Ms. Mary said to her and tina didn't respond at first as she only stared at her blankly.
She didn't appreciate the way that Ms. Mary was teasing her.
Her fears and hesitance were perfectly rational.
She didn't know much about Ms. Mary but she knew that until today she didn't particularly like tina and so who knew what she really had planned for her and what the real reason for her inviting her here was.
However she was pulled out of her thoughts when she watched as Ms. Mary raised her own cup in her hand and she offered it up to her.
"I am not being paranoid simply being cautious and I am glad to know that you don't plan on doing something stupid because I am sure that you know that it would be foolish of you and that it won't end well for you. I will have no trouble taking you down if you do try to cross me." Tina said to her.
Ms. Mary kept her face passive as she only offered her a shaky smile before humming slightly.
Ms. Mary had to give it to tina that she was quite smart.
But the thing about being very smart was that it often came with a very large ego to match.
That was going to be tina's down fall.
She thought that because she was very powerful and because of the fact that her father also had a lot of influence it meant that she was untouchable but that wasn't true.
Because despite the fact that tina was smart Ms. Mary was just as smart and before she had invited tina over to join her she had thought of multiple scenarios in her head and thought over it thoroughly about how the encounter would go down between the two of them.
She was aware of the fact that Tina wouldn't fall for just any excuse that she would give her.
And she knew that Tina wouldn't simply fall for her lie that she wanted to use her to get to her father.
That was why she had a backup plan for everything.
For a moment she watched tina carefully as she brought the cup up to her lips and she had a triumphant look on her face.
At that moment tina was most likely feeling as though she had caught onto Ms. Mary's game and that there was no way that she could outwit her now.
But she didn't know one thing and that was the fact that although she was smart there was one thing that she wasn't and that was invincible.
There were a lot of things that she could think ahead of but she couldn't perfectly plan out each and every probability.
And that was what Ms. Mary had been counting on.
She knew that tina wouldn't trust her and that was why instead of simply poisoning one cup with he vile that dick had given her she had de3dided that she would poison the both of them.
She knew that there was a chance that tina would catch on to her and that the most likely thing that she would do if that happened was to ask for them to switch.
That was why Ms. Mary knew that she wouldn't fool her so easily.
She didn't know it then but Ms. Mary had been playing tina from the moment that she had walked in.
She had stroked her ego and she had allowed her to believe that she was powerful and strong and she had done it in such a way that tina felt that way as well.
What tina wasn't aware of was the fact that this was part of a tactic by Ms. Mary. By stroking tina's ego it meant that tina was more susceptible and it allowed he to let her guard down slightly.
In any other case scenario tina wouldn't have taken any of the coffees and she would have left the house the moment that she sensed that Ms. Mary wasn't being completely honest with her.
However tina had stayed and she had continued to entertain Ms. Mary loving the way that she spoke well of her.
That was how Ms. Mary was being able to catch her and lead her right into her trap and she didn't even realize it.
Sher thought that she was the one who had the other hand and she assumed by giving threats and by assuring Ms. Mary of her strength and by warning her not to go up against her that it would be enough.
That Ms. Mary wouldn't try something but that was wrong.
There was one thing that she had factored out and that was the fact that Ms. Mary had a sheer sense of determination and a need for revenge. She was willing to risk anything and everything to ensure that she took tina and her father down.
Tina's threats didn't mean anything to her at that very moment.
They might have before but that was a long time ago.
Now essentially there was one thing that Ms. Mary cared about and that was ensuring that she took them down.
Tina didn't know it yet but she had already stepped right into the trap and this was just the beginning of their downfall.
They thought that by being cruel people would be too scared to go against them but it only gave them more enemies willing to do anything in order to put an end to them.
Ms. Mary knew that there was a chance that tina would grow suspicious and that was the reason why she had decided to spike both drinks.
She had a feeling that something like this would happen and putting the poison into both drinks was the only way that she could ensure that Tina drank what she gave to her.
