Chapter 26 - Cut Ties, Steal, Impose.

Oliphant was curled up in a foetal position seeming to signifying his rebirth, his eyes were shut tightly and were trembling, when it came down to reality he found that he couldn't face it, to abandon all he knows and assimilate in this world was a heavy burden but he knew he had to do it and Zakia with his experience also knew if Oliphant put his past life behind him, that would be dangerous for him.

This would become a man who had all there is to gain and nothing to lose and there is no enemy more dangerous than someone who had nothing to lose. This would mean the factors that Zakia was using to indirectly control him would be gone. He knew after this transformation of the mind from Oliphant would mean his chances of gaining his body back would decrease by a large margin.

As Oliphant was on the floor trembling his past life memories were flashing before his eyes, his wife, his kids, friends, parents, colleagues, the wonderful memories he had with all these people and the world around him, he relived them for one last time before he let them go, this would be the last time he would think of home.

"Honey you left your keys." a sweet and melodic voice could be heard behind Oliphant.

" Oh, I don't know how I always forget these thank you love, you are a life saver." This was a man in suit pants with a pure white shirt tucked in neatly, with an armed shoulder gun holster around him and a black tie to match the pants. It was a middle aged man with a goatee and a bold head, his dark brown eyes reflecting the love of his life, with a bright smile across his face.

Oliphant went back for the keys and took them but before he left, he put the woman in his embrace and gave her a long goodbye kiss like it was his last and told her, "I love you, oh and tell my baby girls I love them for me when they wake up for school."

" Oh stop you'll be late and we love you too honey." the woman replied teasingly and gently making Oliphant feel warm in his heart. He then hurried to his car and saw his wife waving at him as he drove off. This was his daily routine in his past life and now he realized how precious these little moments were to him, now that he will never see them again.

After seeing this scene Oliphant jolted awake his eyes red and flowing with tears that went down his face. He stood back up and his head that he held up most of the time giving him a prideful aura and maturity was now lowered and facing the floor, his back was now bent a little like he was carrying large boulders on his shoulders making his physique look a bit like an old man. All he had now was deep sorrow for cutting off all ties that brought him happiness.

"I'm sorry I couldn't hold on to your memories for any longer, because if I do I will really die in vain, this is for my own good and for yours, so that my love for you can never be used against me again." Oliphant mumbled slowly as he stood up from the dimly lit room and saw his reflection on the mirror that covered one side of the wall. He could not see his facial features clearly, sometimes he felt like he was looking at his own original past self and sometimes it would go back to Zakia's appearance.

Oliphant had now undergone a transformation as a spellcaster: Transformation of the Mind. In this world three transformations or changes needed to be undergone by all practitioners alike, its just that others did not need to change their minds at a deeper level than spellcasters, transformation of the mind, transformation of the heart and transformation of the soul. Once all these three transformations are undergone one can be considered to have reached rank three in their path of the world and can be considered important people not to be provoked.

Since Oliphant has now fully undergone one transformation he was now a fully fledged rank 1 spellcaster. He could now see the disharmony in him by the flickering changes of his face. After a while the changes slowed down and he returned to Zakia's facial features.

When Oliphant closed his eyes he could see into his mind, a phenomenon known to this world as a Mindscape view, it's like a separate space where one can store knowledge, spells and memories and such things inside, this place was divided between Zakia and Oliphant into a three over four ratio, the majority was one side of a dark clouds with wailing souls appearing and disappearing as well as letters and runes shining in dark light, while the other minority side had three colored light shining all over, weakly resisting the pitch black cloud of wailing souls from completely invading it.

This place had the mask that Oliphant was siphoning power from and the information and the recent things he knew about this world, another object was a ball of memories from Oliphant's past life closed in a dark ball of mist with images showing now and then.

His mind was now like a book he knew from start to finish if he needed to remember something he would just need to turn to that page number and remember that piece of information in a short span of time, this also applied to learning new things, it would be like adding new pages to the book that already exists.

"The three colored light domain belongs to me and the dark cloud domain represents Zakia, if he was not here all this space occupied by him would belong to me as well, this is probably because I have not comprehended a way of the world of my own and using the mask as an substitute." Oliphant thought as he closed the door to his secret room and thought of something as he saw the concealment carving placed on the door.

Except for World Invokers, the fundamental requirement for advancement to another rank was comprehension of a certain element in the world, comprehending it with the mind, with the heart and the soul. With regards to Oliphant what he knew best was not what people of this world knew, he did not know how fire and water worked, his world was dominated by technology, learning about fire and the like was impractical to study.

What he knew was fighting crime, and what was crime? It was at the root: forcefully taking from others what they owned, any crime known was based on this. After gaining access to the mindscape Oliphant learned he could use what he knows to form spells.

"It's ironic that I used to lock up people for stealing from others but now I'm the one who will be stealing from other people." Oliphant sighed as he thought of this and extended his hand towards the door and slowly placed it on it and said a word.

"Steal." After Oliphant said this word he felt a large amount of energy flow into his hand and extending towards the door forming golden like vines on the door, after they covered the whole door thy started retracting back to his palm. The runic carvings on the door retracted back along with his golden vines and imprinted on the back of his hand.

The spell that was on the door was now on his hand. "Interesting, this is an interesting ability isn't it Zakia?"

"You!? What did you just do?" Zakia replied puzzled, from the moment the rune appeared on the back of Oliphant's hand he felt like his connection to Zakia and his physical body were connected by a thin rope that could be cut off easily.

"It's not much really at the moment, I can't hold on to it for a long time." After Oliphant said this he pressed his palm back on the door and now silver vines appeared instead of gold and expanded covering the whole door but this time the silver vines imprinted on the door along with the runic enchantment and dissipated after a while leaving the carving as it was on the door, after removing his hand the runic enchantment was now back on the door, then Oliphant spoke another word.

"Impose."

"Impressive right, now let's go and see Kael now shall we." Oliphant said. Zakia couldn't help but feel an ominous air being realesed from Oliphant.
