Nia's POV
In a burst of frustration, I found myself yelling at Sofia, "Shut up and listen to me!" My voice echoed louder than expected, slicing through the tension like a knife. The moment the words left my mouth, I saw a change come over her. She went from defensive to calm instantly, as if my outburst had flicked a switch inside her. I was panting, the heat of my anger making my cheeks flush.
"Why do you keep blaming me for everything?" I couldn't hold back the rising tide of questions and accusations. It felt like I was standing at the edge of a cliff, shouting into the wind. "You never told me about Abuela's cancer. Why would you keep that from me? And Diego... you never mentioned that he stopped going to school. Why didn't you trust me enough to tell me you were also getting threatening messages from X? It doesn't make any sense."
