Chapter 1 - Analysing My Surrounding

Master, please wake up." It was the first thing I heard when I awoke. This was slightly concerning, because I live alone, however the tone of the person's voice was full of worry. I slowly opened my eyes, to look at the face of a beautiful maid, whose eyes were looking at me full of tears.

Her jeweled eyes sparkled like sapphire, and she had hair as dark as the night. "Who are you?" I asked, as I took in my surroundings. The walls were beautifully painted pearl white, with a calming velvet red at the tops of each wall. The bed from which I awoke had a beautiful, gilded design, and my pillows felt as if they were made of cotton candy. A beautiful room with a beautiful maid, I asked myself; Is this heaven?!

"Young Master, please stop joking around! This is a profoundly serious matter and all the servants in the mansion have been deeply concerned about your health!"

"Servants? Mansion? Where am I?"

"Master, do you seriously not remember?" The maid said, her eyes filling up with even more tears, and sadness plagued her expressions.

Suddenly, my head started to hurt. It was the last memory I had before waking up here. I was reading a book which was part of a series that I have been glued to. I remember reading the last pages of the 4 out of 5 books while going on my way to return it to the library, where I had lost my focus on the traffic. But it was too late. By the time I took my eyes off the book, a blinding light hit my eyes, where I was frozen still as if I was a deer, and I met the same fate as one, shot down by the light's piercing shine.

It turns out I had transmigrated to my favourite novels 'Heroes VS Ancient Demons." (Oh, and for those who do not know what transmigration means, it is when a person forms the real world comes to a book or game)

Well, that was a surprise to me as well. Most people who transmigrate/reincarnate into their favourite book in your average manga, or light novel, end up as the main protagonist, someone who heavily contributed to the story or at least, an underdog. But I, reincarnated as a side character, who died in the first arc of the story, to contribute to the hero's character development. Your average, 'Live for me, [Main Protagonist] and fight so our world can see light tomorrow, and lead the innocent citizens, and the soldiers who fought beside us, into a new tomorrow!' Nobody wants to die, just to live again as a character destined to die! The character that I had transferred into was called Alistor Vermillion-Hart, a noble. The name of the maid who was teary eyed was Rachel. I asked Rachel to tell me basic information, such as how long I was out for what year it was, and how old I am currently. I also asked her for a notebook, and some time alone, to recollect my thoughts since 'I have been asleep for long.'

Being a noble is amazing. I wrote down the information that would be useful to me to stop my death. The first thing I would need to do was remove the illness that plagued Alister. Pure Mana Death. Once affected it was a hundred percent death rate within a decade, but Alister got affected when he was six. I am currently sixteen meaning even if I survived the first arc, I would only have a month to live afterword. It is not going to be hundred percent in two years' time when a cure will be created meaning I would have to create it in the here and now which is going to be hard if I were not a noble.

Wait... Since the date was the 20 of August 2527, I had time to get "that" weapon. I gave a list of all the ingredients that I need to Rachel.

"But Master are you sure you want these? The cheapest ingredient on this list is 100 gold."

"I am definitely sure, Rachel."

"I will have to inform your father."

"I would not expect anything else."

She huffily walks away. Well, of course she would 90 gold was her yearly salary.

Now that I have talked about the cons of this body let us talk about the pros. Firstly, I was a noble, meaning if I could become the true heir, I could have a near unlimited number of resources. Secondly, Dexter Levan (the main character) said if Alistor had at least an S rank weapon and a Demonic fighting technique he could have easily been stronger than him. I plan to get an O rank weapon and a Supreme rank fighting technique. I should explain how this world was created. Around 500 years ago when the first Mana Brust occurred, causing a rift allowing Demons, Elves, and all sorts of other races to come to earth. This allowed humans to also use mana allowing humans to use magic and all sorts. There are two ways to see how strong you are you Status screen or a Mana Testing stones which are extremely rare speaking of which I should check mine. You are overall ranking can is a range from F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, O. F being the worst of course. Skills share the same ranking. Then there are the fighting technique rankings Basic, Complex, Nightmare, Demonic, Supreme, Semi-Devine and Divine. Now that we are Finished with that let us see what kind of stats I have, I mean Alistor's stats.

Alistor Vermillion-Hart

Health: 32/162

Strength: 27

Speed: 32

Endurance: 12

Intelligence: 372

Agility: 29

Potential: O

Overall: D

Fighting Style: None

Skills -

-You can instantly calculate all factors and produce a 55% accurate prediction. Over time  this power can be upgraded(B)

You can recall any memory you want. (S)

Wow, that is impressive. All his stats except endurance are above 20 which is amazing for a D rank and the only reason the endurance is that low is because I have Pure Mana Death, that goes for the health as well. The only problem is the endurance stat will always be lower than my other stats due to the side effect of Pure Mana Death. But the only thing that confused me were my skills and my intellect because in the story that I read no character had an IQ above 200...No way could it be? No, it could not be. But it must be. My IQ from my previous life must have merged with Alistor's IQ but why were the other stats not affected? I must have gained the skills because of my high IQ.

Let us not think about it too much because we must get my weapon before the hero does.

Oh, and if you think it will affect the story Dexter uses a scythe, so I do not know why the author gave him a sword because he did not use it for the whole story well up to the 4th book at least, weird right?

I pulled out my phone and checked how far the sword was. It is only a 20-minute walk from here. Guess I know what I am doing for the rest of the day.

As I was walking through the corridors of the mansion, I saw the faces of my ancestors, I mean Alistor's ancestors.

CLANG!!!

I bumped into the reason Alistor had died.

His younger brother. You see, Alistor's younger brother (James) hated him as Alistor was meant to inherit everything until he got infected. Even when he knew Alistor was going to die he still sent assassins after Alistor's who succeeded.

Demon Assassins.

Real piece of shit. I would have to kill him later.

A whiny voice full of arrogance sprung from his voice like a leaking faucet "Brother, where are you going? Last I checked you have no friends."

God, I would have to resist killing him. "None of your business."

"You knew you have to back by dinner, right?"

"Of course."

He pushes past me with a face full of annoying pleasure.

I walked to the front door like nothing happened. The best way to deal with him is to ignore him. I walked outside to see the most beautiful garden. Flush roses on both sides.

"Master what are you doing here?" asked a mechanical voice to my right-side. I turned around to see a robot. Wire running back and forth from the Mana Core powering it.

"Uh... I need to go somewhere."

"Why of course Sir. Just please tell where you want to go?"

Damn, being a noble is epic because who would not want a robot butler?

***

"Master are you sure you want to come here?"

"Of course, Jermey." (That was the butler's name). Why was Jeremy asking why I wanted to go there? Well, this place was called Mount Atlas. It is peak hiding behind the cloud which where grayer than my morals. Monsters above B rank roamed here which was dangerous. But I did not need to go to the top.

I need to get to the base where a hidden cave lay. I started to run and since my speed was high, I reached the base withing a few minutes. As soon as I arrived, I took in my surroundings. I spotted what I was looking for a vine that was out of place. I reached over and pulled down hard.

CRACK

A large slab of rock slid out of place. Revealing a massive opening. As I started to run, I collapsed onto the rocky floor. I had forgotten my endurance was so low.

***

After resting for 20 minutes, I got back up and started running eventually I reached the end of the cave.

At the end of the cave lay a sword stabbed into the ground. I slowly walked up to the sword and using my fingertips I touched it and lost consciousness.
