Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Sage Weapon

The lingering scent of potions and medicinal herbs greeted Harry as he returned to consciousness. His eyes flickered open to reveal the familiar fabric of his tent in the Heidelburg camp. Eleonora and Anne, both with red-rimmed eyes, sat close by, their faces brightening as they saw him stir.

Harry's weak smile brought forth a flood of emotion from the two women, their embraces warm and comforting. "I was terrified we'd lost you," Eleonora whispered, her voice quivering.

Anne tried to inject some levity, albeit with a reprimanding tone, "Always finding ways to make us worry, aren't you?"

With a chuckle, Harry replied, "What can I say? It seems to be my special talent."

Their banter was interrupted by the towering figures of Professor Cedric and the Knight Grandmaster. Both bore expressions of deep respect, their eyes surveying Harry with a blend of awe and curiosity. For in the aftermath of the recent battle, Harry's strength had transcended, matching even the powerhouses of their caliber.

Breaking the silence, Cedric remarked, "Harry, your achievements are nothing short of extraordinary. Few mages have reached such zeniths, and certainly not at your tender age."

The Grandmaster added, "Your actions will echo in the annals of history. The Empire will truly feel the sting of their loss this time."

Attempting to sit up, Harry winced in pain but managed a determined look. "I only did what I believed was right."

The Grandmaster's usual stoicism gave way to a brief smile. "His Majesty, The King, has ordered a grand ceremony in your honor. The entire kingdom wishes to express its gratitude."

Soon, the trio found themselves in the regal corridors of the Heidelburg palace. Every inch of the place spoke of its storied past, from the ornate tapestries depicting heroic sagas to the cold, beautiful marble underfoot.

King Heinrich, regal in his golden attire, greeted them with a warmth that belied his station. "In my reign, I have seen heroes rise and fall. But seldom have I witnessed one as young as you, Harry, accomplishing such feats."

He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing, "We gather here not only to celebrate a victory but to honor those who made it possible. While we revel in our success, we must also remember the brave souls we've lost." The room was silent, the weight of the King's words pressing heavily on every heart.

Sage Benedictus, a figure of legend in his own right, stepped forward. His voice, rich and deep, resonated throughout the hall. "In ancient scriptures, it is said that true heroes are not born but forged through adversity. Harry, your meteoric rise stands as a testament to this truth. I have seen many prodigies in my time, but none who have harnessed their power as you have."

With a flourish, he presented the silver longsword with a golden hilt, its aura almost palpable. "This blade once belonged to Paladin Gottfried, a beacon of hope and justice. Today, I pass it on to you, for I believe its spirit has found a worthy successor."

Gasps filled the chamber, for the sword of a Sage was legendary. Weapons of such caliber were treasures, objects of desire for many, yet possessed by very few.

King Heinrich, not to be overshadowed, turned his attention to Eleonora and Anne. "Your loyalty and skill have not gone unnoticed. I hereby grant you tutelage under our court magician, Wilhulf. Under his guidance, you will unlock alchemy secrets unknown to many."

The two women exchanged looks of astonishment and gratitude. To learn alchemy from a figure like Wilhulf was an honor they hadn't dared dream of.

But as applause and cheers filled the air, they were abruptly silenced by a thunderous explosion. A dark cloud of smoke rose menacingly outside the city.

The Grandmaster, voice filled with dread, uttered, "The battle is not yet over."

With his new sword in hand and determination in his heart, Harry prepared to face the oncoming storm. The festive mood had turned to one of urgency, but Heidelburg newest hero was ready for whatever lay ahead.
