"So what's the plan?" Candice asked me.
We were currently standing in front of the closed grey gates, behind which was our objective. It had been thirty minutes since we left the others behind to recuperate for the time being. I took close to twenty minutes observing the parameter and after confirming that these grey gates were the only entrance behind these brick walls there was no longer any need for any advanced planning.
Given the information that Nale had given me, even if some of it was less accurate or worse yet maybe even fabricated, it didn't matter.
What were schemes in the face of overwhelming power?
"Have you recovered your mana?" I turned to face Candice beside me.
Her black eyes twinkled with a peculiar light.
"I have recovered about 80%. Will that be enough?" she looked at me quizzically.
"That's more than enough" I nodded before stepping closer to the gates. "Get ready. When I give the signal I'm going to need you to use your
"Okay but seriously what's the plan?" she asked for the second time.
"What else?" I pulled back my fist. Muscles flexing and tensing as I braced myself. "We go in through the front door"
BOOM!
I punched out with all my strength. My knuckles smashing into one of the gates. I felt my arm tremble slightly but it wasn't anything significant. Without suspense the area around which I punched caved in on itself and the gate's hinges broke off the brick wall before the deformed gate was sent flying.
…
The six men who had been chatting just a while ago suddenly heard and explosion. Six pairs of eyes looked towards the gate. What they saw however sent chills down their spines.
A black shadow was hurtling towards them at ghostly speeds. The two men who had been silent throughout their conversations dove out of the way just in time before the black mass slapped against the other four men carrying them all away with its force before crashing through the front door of the building in a mist of blood and bone.
The two silent survivors were shocked. But they weren't the only ones.
Inside the building all the men who had been in the lobby screamed and scurried away from the source of the destruction thinking that it was perhaps a mutant beast that had somehow managed to get through their defenses.
Jace who had just finished relaying his orders watched with narrowed eyes. With his evolved senses he could easily tell that this wasn't a mutant beast in fact it wasn't even a living creature.
No, it was the front gate!
But then another question came to his mind. What was this gate even doing here? No how was it even here in the first place?
Only one thing came to his mind.
This was an attack!
…
Back outside, the moment I heard the crash I moved. The two surviving guards tried bring up their guns in a panic but with my speed I was already upon them.
In one swift motion I had their faces in the palms of my hand quite literally. The next moment I lifted them slightly from the ground. They didn't even weigh a feather to me. The next moment I smashed the base of their skulls into the floor with just enough force to keep their skulls intact. However they lost consciousness.
I took a breath to calm myself. I could feel adrenaline rushing through my veins and my vision tunnelling. My cells were supercharged and I could a certain rush. A kind of excitement and anticipation for what was to become.
I took a second to observe the two unconscious men beneath me.
No visible tiger head tattoos…rifles…semi-automatic Type 51…
I moved on. These men weren't originally Tiger Gang members and probably had no choice but to join to survive. I didn't know about the previous four men who had been crushed by the gate that I sent flying so I couldn't be sure.
However those with the tiger head tattoo on their neck had probably been in the gang for a long time therefore had probably done a lot of evil deeds in the past to I had qualms about killing them.
It may have sounded cold but it was the truth. I truly felt nothing when killing these men. Maybe I was psychotic or maybe I lost a part of myself with Billy's death.
I wasn't sure. What was certain though was that I had a task before me that I needed focus on.
I reached for Black Salamander. Feeling the hilt of the sword in my right hand for a moment. I felt it vibrate with excitement. Our goals aligning for a single purpose.
Slaughter.
I took slow steps forward. Stepping right through the collapsed door. When I appeared within what could be considered the lobby of the building I took note of the 'crowd' standing before me.
'
I felt my perception of time slow done to a crawl. My analytical ability skyrocketing in an instant.
Seventeen men…ten Glock 17's…three shotguns…four semi-automatic Type 51 rifles…one evolver close to my level.
In just a split second I had analyzed every little detail. That was the miracle of the incomplete
"Fuck! Open fire!" The high level evolver from the enemy side ordered frantically.
'But first things first…' I thought just as all hell broke loose as the seventeen men all pulled their triggers open fire in direction.
