Sparing a gaze at Lilith before turning back to the road, he continued talking.
"I can't believe how beautiful she was," Lucas reminisced, a wistful smile playing on his lips. "She had an ethereal quality about her, like a goddess descended from the moon itself. Some even compared her to the moon goddess."
Lilith, captivated by Lucas' description, felt her hands instinctively clench over her chest as she was overwhelmed by jealousy. "Wait, if your mate was a werewolf, how was she the sister of the human Luna?"
Lucas shrugged, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "It's a complicated story. You see, there was an affair between a werewolf and a human, and that's how the bond between Emily and Luna came to be."
His expression grew sombre as he continued, "Unfortunately, they are no longer with us. They passed away."
Lilith's face fell with sadness. "I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing someone you love is never easy."
