A haggered looking young man is walking towards the entrance point of the no.7 major city. He was reborn with the memory from earth in this world where reiki recovered a thousand years ago and martial art cultivation started. This lead to the fight between monters and humans for territory and resources that lasted for century.The war was affected by the appearance of other world passages which bought creatures infected with a special energy called abyss energy, that make them have only one thought ,KILL. Eventually monsters and humans joined forces and destroyed many infected and sealed the passages, thus reaching a balance between humans and monters. And avoiding conflicts over the years.
The man passed through the outer gate which detects the abyss energy and reached the inner gate where identification is done. People with entrance pass can get through the identification easily but he's a person who's been missing for 6 years from the city. He went through a entry point to take detailed identification and reached a hall with many staffs and people busy. He went to one of the staff who is responsible for identification and asked;
"I have been outside the city for 6 years. I have probably reported missing, can you help?".
The staff only had low level cultivation and looked at him and said; " Since you are a mortal that can be fixed easily, you only need to press your hand here and the data base will confirm your identity".
He took out a device that is a combination of reiki and technology and puts it infront of him. He pressed his hand and his ID confirmed and displayed his details on the monitor. The staff looks at the information and asked;
"What is your name young man ?"
"Chen Changshen"
The man looked through the information once again and confirmed there's no problem and took out a card and gave it to Chen Changshen;
"The ID is confirmed, you can use this as a ID card. Congratulations on getting back from the wild".
"Thank you"
Chen Changshen took the card and left the place and get into the city. The city looks prosperous and we'll developed even though it's only bottom among the major cities it's still a major city of human federation. Chen Changshen caught a cab and went to his family home. His family is middle to upper level in the city his father has a cultivation of peak martial spirit which can be considered strong when the city lord of the major city is only a martial emperor. Taxi quickly reached a good looking villa that is not too big. Chen Changshen got out and went to his house his father and mother where sitting outside the home and even though they showed happiness on their face there's still saddnes in their eyes.
"Mom...Dad..." Chen Changshen called out.
Father and mother was stunned first but when they saw their missing son after 6 years their eyes get teary. Mom quickly ran towards him and hugged him crying and complaining how bad he looks;
"What happened to you, Changshen? You look so haggered."
"I am fine mom. It's just that my cultivation and my talent is gone, and I am just a waste now"
Father also come to him and said while tapping his shoulder;
"Just be back, Don't worry about cultivation"
Mom said quickly to Chen Changshen; "You go and take a shower, I will make your favourite meal for dinner."
"Thank you, Mom"
Mom quickly went to the kitchen to prepare for dinner. Father looked at Chen Changshen and said;
"You must have gone through a lot these years, it's good that your back, don't worry about anything else. Even though I am not that strong there's still a little strength to keep you well. And your sister has joined Imperial Academy and is considered a genius."
Chen Changshen just smiled and went to his room and saw that it was exactly the same as six years ago. He looked at the pictures on the table and saw picture with he and his sister and also a picture with he and his childhood sweetheart. And the indifferent eyes showed slight emotions when he saw them and it went back to it's previous indifference. He went to the bathroom and cleaned himself and even though he was extremely handsome he still looked haggered. He closed his eyes and deep in his consciousness there's a plain looking black silver cube emitting mysterious fluctuations slowly rotating. He opened his eyes and went to the dining hall for dinner it's a bit early but he hasn't eaten from home for 6 years.
" Changshen, I made your favourite hotpot and side dishes, eat your full"
Mom said pointing at the table full of dishes.
Even though it's possible to go fasting after reaching high level cultivation people still prefer eating.
Chen hong and Chen bai also eat with their son. And talked about some things happed during his missing years. Chen hong said to his son; "Son, do you want me to arrange some job here?. Even though there's enough money for us to live, you will feel down if you don't do anything."
"Honey, why are you forcing him to work just after he got here. It's fine if he didn't work, and if he's working he should work in the imperial city."
Mother quickly defended Chen Changshen. Father frowned slightly thinking about it and said; "My strength is not enough to do anything in the imperial city. We need to wait for Anxi to come back and talk about it."
"My son, you don't need to worry, Anxi will comeback for year end vacation in two days and you can ask her to find a job for you at imperial city".
Mother comforted Chen Changshen.
Chen Changshen just said with a smile;
" Mom don't worry, I am just gonna live a normal life and it's enough as long as there's enough to eat."
Mom looked angry and scolded; "what are you talking about, don't you need to marry a beautiful wife and give a few grandchildren to me. I remember that city lord's daughter is your childhood sweetheart, she will also come back from the imperial College....."
Father interrupted and said; "City lord's daughter is considered a genius even if she has feelings for Changshen, city lord would never allow to that. After all he will be only looked as a waste."
" Honey, don't talk about our son like that, before Even Anxi who's now considered the strongest genius in no. City 7 couldn't hold a candle Changshen...."
Chen Changshen said with a indifferent smile; "Mom ,dad is right. It's all in the past, now I am just a waste who can't even practice martial arts. and don't worry I don't have any stupid thoughts ".
Chen hong and Chen bai looked sad and everyone just finished the food and went to sleep early. Chen Changshen went to his room and fall asleep in his bed quickly. The next day there was a rumour that the genius who went missing come back as a waste.
