As the sun gave the rule over the sky to its younger sibling, Galen spurred his horse into a full gallop. The wind whipped through his hair, tugging at the edges of his cloak, when he saw the faintly twinkling lights of the town.
It was already late at night when he finally arrived at the small clinic on the outskirts of Etril. Breathless and exhilarated, Galen dismounted, his heart pounding with the thrill of his journey. He promised Violet to end the investigation by the end of the day, and since midnight was still a few minutes away, this could count as he kept his end of the bargain.
Coming closer to the house, he immediately noticed something was wrong. He has been loitering around the small clinic a lot to know, that the girl would never go to the bed with her door unlocked. But today, he could see a small space indicating that someone just went in.
