Count Ponsonby was the local noble with the largest territory around Etril. He always dreamed of becoming a succesful councilman but inherited more debts than properties alongside his titles. He tried to find a way how to survive, when God's punishment, as the commoners called the disease, plagued his land, causing one loss after another.
When he heard the royal inspector would be visiting, he understood it was his chance coming. No one truly believed this mission would bring any changes, but it was the opportunity for him to curry favour with the people in power. As long as he serves them right, and listens to their command, the future will surely be brighter tomorrow.
