It was already morning when Terrence's family saw all the clothes that Terrence bought for them.
"Oh my! These are all so pretty!" Tianna happily exclaimed as she looked through all the bags.
She was very thankful that Terrence bought something for them. She wanted to cry. This just shows how her children had grown up into adults already.
"I remember the days when you were still a little kid," Tiana recalled the memories. She looked at Terrence, who was in front of her.
The both of them were in the living room, sitting on the cold ground.
"What is it, Mom?" Terrence looked at Tiana with curiosity written in his eyes.
Tiana chuckled. "Did you know that there was a time when you were running around outside without clothes?" She looked at Terrence teasingly.
"Mom!" Terrence tried to stop his mother from continuing her words. However, Tiana just disregarded it and laughed out loud.
"You were even shouting that you were free, and you wanted to be a superhero." Tiana continued to laugh as she remembered what her son looked like.
"Mommm!" Terrence stood up, refusing to hear what Tiana would further say.
Tiana looked at Terrence. "What?" She raised her brows. "I was just telling you what you looked like when you were a child."
Terrence shook his head. "Let that memory die, Mom."
Even though that wasn't really his memory, Terrence was still embarrassed by it. He refused to know more embarrassing moments about his current body.
Tiana laughed. She tilted her head to the side. A loud sigh sounded from a few seconds of silence.
"But really… You and your sister are growing up fast." A bitter smile appeared on Tiana's lips as she said those words.
"Me and your father are growing old too…" Tiana stared at Terrence's eyes. "I hope that in the future, you can take care of your sister."
There was a big lump in Terrence's throat. "O-Of course, Mom"
Tiana nodded. "Remember that you two should be honest and forgiving to each other…"
"Mom, why are we going down to this path? You and Dad are still healthy and well." Terrence tried his best to put a smile on his face as he said those words.
He secretly clenched his fist. The thought of his parents dying again for the second time sent pain to his heart.
He knew for sure that if that happened for the second time again, he wouldn't be able to keep it up.
Tianna quickly nodded. "You're right. It's just because your Mom is too old that she has become emotional." She tried to joke.
However, Terrence remained serious despite his mother's joke.
When Tiana saw it, she tried to cheer up her son by complimenting the clothes more.
"Mom! Brother! I have big news for you!" Abigail went inside their house, running in excitement. Her presence made the atmosphere lighter.
"Abigail! It's just 9 am and you're too noisy already! What would you think our neighbors would say to us?" Tiana scolded Abigail.
Abigail scratched the back of her head. She pouted before walking slowly and sitting beside Tiana.
Oh well, I have a big news, Mother!"
"I was chosen as one of the possible students to qualify for a scholarship in the city!" Abigail proudly shared the good news.
Tiana and Terrence, who heard the news, were genuinely surprised by what Abigail announced.
"Really? Where did you hear about that?"
"A classmate of mine who was in university right now told me the news! Apparently, there was a senator who was interested in giving opportunities to students like us," Abigail explained in detail.
When Terrence heard it, he got curious. "Who is that Senator? That was new to my ear."
Abigail shook her head. "I do not know, brother. My classmate didn't tell me who it was. I think it's being kept a secret too."
Terrence slowly nodded. The sudden interest that the government officials were showing in them weirded him out.
"Woah!" Tiana clapped her hands proudly. "This is the first time that the government did something for us willingly!" she couldn't help but be amazed at it.
Abigail nodded. She agreed with her mom. "I know right, Mom! We are so blessed to be one of these. If this will continue, then you won't problem with my education anymore…" she paused to glance at Terrence. "And brother can continue his education now!"
"That's right, Terrence! Since your sister would be a scholar, then do you want to continue studying already? It's been 2 years since you stopped. Maybe it's time for you to continue your studies." Tiana agreed.
Terrence was left speechless for a couple of seconds. He cleared his throat before answering. "I don't want to continue my studies yet, Mom. I still want to do something first before deciding on that."
What he said was a lie. Terrence really does not have any plans to continue his studies. Not now when he can already earn money using his System.
That was like wasting his System's potential to grow.
It would also limit his time to explore and do the things he liked.
"Are you sure, Terrence? I remember that you really want to pursue your studies but because…
Tiana tried changing Terrence's mind but when she remembered that it was their fault she couldn't continue her words.
Terrence nodded. He was already sure of his answer. "Yes, Mother. I am sure about it."
Tiana sighed. She nodded even though she wasn't satisfied with Terrence's words.
When Abigail saw the shift of mood in their mom's eyes, she tried to butt in and change the topic.
"Oh right, Mother! Tomorrow, you all will need to go to school. My classmate told me that we need to go there to discuss how the scholarship will happen."
Terrence smiled. "I'll treat you all to a good meal tomorrow."
Abigail clapped her hands in excitement. "Don't take back your words, Brother!"
Terrence chuckled. "Yup."
"Oh righttttt!" Abigail, who remembered it just now, grabbed Terrence and Tiana's attention.
"The senator that I talked to earlier will arrive tomorrow! We will meet him too!"
