Ruri and the whale advanced smoothly towards the volcano, and with each step they took, the space around them seemed to stretch and distort. Alm and Bruno observed the phenomenon without surprise; all this abyss must have been shaped by beings from the divine realm. In this place, high-level spatial laws could manipulate the environment on an ascending planet with low cost.
They walked for an hour, and Ruri was astonished to look ahead and realize that the volcano was still at the same distance as before. Turning around, the amazement was even greater, as they could no longer see the sea of lava or any sign of it.
Now, they found themselves in a black and arid plain, boundless, without a single blade of grass, accompanied by scorching wind. This brought with it a strange desolation, but Ruri held the whale's hand cheerfully.
