The poison in her veins began to infect her. It felt as if all of her nerve endings were on fire. Catalina screamed in agony as she writhed on the ground.
Athena clicked her fingers. Crisps and Cream released their hold on the queen.
"Catch, you wouldn't want to drop your only lifeline, would you?" Athena said coldly as she threw the antidote at Catalina.
The queen caught it mid-air. Without hesitation, she downed the contents of the vial all in one go. The pain quickly subsided as the effects slowly faded away. She could breathe again. She was no longer in pain.
Athena walked over to Krayden to speak to him. She leaned on his chest for comfort while he wrapped his arms around her.
"You're so pathetic, Athena. What did you really have to gain from all of this? Nothing! Your mother's dead because of me and your father is as good as dead too!" Catalina laughed.
Athena looked up at Krayden, who could not help but chuckle.
