Krayden and Athena made it to the throne room with Wendy by their side along with a smaller entourage. They kept up their facade of being ill for all to see. No one would suspect otherwise.
"You… asked to see us, Queen Catalina?" Athena asked, her voice sounding weak from being ill.
The Queen was grinning from ear to ear. Now that she'd seen their condition for herself, she was sure she was going to win this time.
The throne room was largely empty. Only the Queen, her maid Grace, and her brother, Lord Atticus were there. But Athena and Krayden had already sensed the guards and knights hiding throughout the throne room.
It was all within their predictions.
"You both don't look well, did something happen? Perhaps from something you ate?" Queen Catalina asked as she walked down the steps from her throne.
Krayden gritted his teeth, "You! You poisoned us?"
