Who would have thought that it was the bride who would object to her own wedding? Everyone gasped in shock. Krayden looked to his bride in confusion.
"Athena?"
She removed her veil so that she could see him face to face. She knew she owed him that much.
"I love you, Krayden. I really do. But my heart is not simply a single puzzle piece. It is made up of multiple pieces," Tears welled up in her eyes once more.
She felt like she was letting him down. But she had to do this. She had to be true to herself.
"I cannot marry you. Not like this. I'm sorry," With that, she turned to leave.
Krayden reached out and grabbed hold of her hand without thinking. But Athena turned back and pulled his hand off her own.
"Please, don't make this any more difficult," She pleaded before turning to run once more.
Krayden didn't know how to react. He watched as the distance between them grew. Matthias was the first to leap into action.
