By nightfall, the group had made good progress towards their destination. They stopped at another inn to rest for the night. After having dinner collectively in the tavern, Athena retired to her room for the evening.
She waited for Sir Daric and Zicheng after she had taken a bath. They'd both made plans to gather intel together.
Right on time, both of them entered through the window and retreated to a corner of the room furthest away from the door.
There were guards standing out there and they were from the delegation King Krayden sent.
"What do you think?" Athena whispered to them anxiously.
Sir Daric looked to Zicheng who gave him a glance and a nod. Both of them looked troubled. Athena knew something was up.
"There are rumors. Concerning rumors," Sir Daric began.
In order to gain more intel, Daric and Zicheng went to two different taverns to drink in plain clothes. There, they overheard the common folk whispering and gossiping.
