Chapter 91 - CHAPTER 91: NEW FIANCE'

"I've been waiting for you to say that," said Shen Xingkong.

"Shen Xinai, don't forget what you said. Don't deny it later," warned Shen Xingkong.

"What do I have to deny? She's my mother!" Shen Xinai retorted, oblivious to the mischievous glint in Shen Xingkong's eyes and unaware that she had fallen into her trap once again.

Dong Ru zhu felt that something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Without thinking too much about why Shen Xingkong didn't go to Las Vegas with Song Yunfei, Dong Ru zhu took Shen Xinai home first.

Shen Xingkong glanced at the reporters and said, "Everyone, please bear witness. Miss Shen just said that Dong Ru zhu is her mother."

"...Since I came back to the Shen family, she has treated me like her own. What's the problem with me calling her mother?" Shen Xinai asked.

"No problem," Shen Xingkong replied with a smile. "I just...wish you happiness."

Shen Xinai and Dong Ru zhu were both at a loss for words, as were the reporters.

Not far away, Huo Siye sat in his car, watching Shen Xingkong effortlessly infuriate Dong Ru zhu and her daughter like a little warrior. He couldn't help but laugh.

Bai Ning rolled his eyes in secret. Men who say one thing and mean another are the easiest to chase their wives to the crematorium.

"Fourth Master, Miss Shen is leaving. Do you want to give her a ride home?" Bai Ning reminded him as she watched Shen Xingkong walk away.

Huo Siye withdrew his gaze and focused on his computer with a serious look on his face. However, Bai Ning felt embarrassed to remind him that the computer was not turned on. A few minutes later, Huo Siye pushed his gold-rimmed glasses up his nose and turned his head to look out the window. "It's going to rain," he said calmly.

Bai Ning was speechless. Was he serious? The sun was shining brightly outside, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It didn't look like it was going to rain at all.

"Go and pick up Miss Seven's friend," Huo Siye said.

Bai Ning raised an eyebrow. Did he mean Miss Shen Shen?

"And give her a ride home," Huo Siye added.

Bai Ning couldn't help but twitch his mouth and nodded. "Yes, Fourth Master."

Bai Ning got out of the car and walked towards the direction of Xingkong. He thought to himself that with Huo Siye's attitude, he probably wouldn't be able to catch up with his wife anytime soon, let alone have a child with her next year.

Xingkong was on her way to find Liang Jia Nian and Qin Zhenzhen when someone tapped her on the back. She thought it was Dong Ru zhu and Shen Xinai coming to cause trouble. She took a deep breath and prepared for a fight, but when she turned around, she saw Bai Ning.

"Bai Ning?"

"Miss Shen," he said.

"Do you need something?"

Bai Ning rubbed his nose and looked embarrassed. "Um, it's going to rain. Please get in the car, and we'll take you home."

Xingkong looked up at the cloudless sky and then back at Bai Ning. "..."

Bai Ning laughed awkwardly, his expression becoming even more embarrassed. "Miss Shen, please get in the car."

Xingkong then noticed the black Bentley parked not far away under the shade of a tree. She hesitated for a moment and said, "I think I'll pass."

"Miss Shen, you should get in the car. It might rain later," said Bai Ning.

"The weather forecast said it won't rain today."

"Fourth Master said it will."

Xingkong sighed and said, "Okay, if he said so."

She followed Bai Ning towards the car, but for some reason, her temples started to throb. The black Bentley seemed like a crouching beast, ready to devour her at any moment.

"How about I go buy an umbrella myself?" Xingkong stopped in her tracks.

Bai Ning smiled and said, "Miss Shen, have you heard the saying, 'You can't avoid the 15th even if you dodge the 1st'?"

"What does that mean?"

"It means you can't avoid your fate."

Xingkong chuckled and took a deep breath. She walked towards the car with her head held high.

Bai Ning's shoulders shook with laughter. These two were like enemies.

They arrived at the black Bentley in three or five steps, but Xingkong lost her courage again. She remembered her resolute attitude towards Huo Siye at the bar earlier. What if he got angry and beat her up later?

She felt a chill down her spine and turned to leave.

"Miss Shen, let me open the door for you." Bai Ning smiled and opened the car door, gesturing for her to get in. "Miss Shen, there's something else I wanted to say earlier."

"What is it?"

"May you die early and be reincarnated soon."

Xingkong clenched her fists and thought, "Okay, may I die early and be reincarnated soon."

She lifted her leg and got into the car. The familiar scent of spruce instantly surrounded her, making her nose tingle and feeling lost.

Bai Ning closed the car door and sat in the passenger seat, then instructed the driver to go to Shen's house.

"I won't go home first," Xingkong interrupted Bai Ning and corrected him, "I have a lunch appointment with a friend."

The news of Ye Lingling being forced to jump off a building was exposed, involving Qin Zhenzhen. This matter must be discussed with Liang Jia Nian.

Upon hearing this, Bai Ning looked at Huo Siye and asked.

"New fiancé?" Huo Siye smirked.

Xing Kong: "..."

Bai Ning: "..."

"Who did you fall in love with at first sight this time? How far has it gone? Have you decided on the name of the child, or is the child ready for kindergarten?" Huo Siye continued to stare at the computer.

Xingkong and Bai Ning looked at each other:

Is your master sick?

Bai Ning: "Please save the child."

Xing Kong: "..."

She pursed her lips, curled her fingers, gathered her courage, and slowly reached out her hand. Just before her slender fingers touched the black sleeve cuff, Huo Siye suddenly turned his head.

Xingkong's small hand froze in mid-air, and she saw his gaze turn to her, clear and cold, sharp as a sword.

He lowered his eyes and coldly swept over her fingers.

Xingkong's smile froze as she realized the computer was not turned on. She awkwardly withdrew her hand and gave a small, apologetic smile. "Brother, your computer isn't turned on."

Huo Siye's expression remained cold as his gaze fell on Xingkong's lips. They were small and unadorned, with a hint of a childish pink. They weren't particularly sexy, but they were pretty enough to be alluring.

A hint of bloodlust flickered in Huo Siye's eyes behind his glasses.

Xingkong grinned obsequiously. "I can turn it on for you. You must be very busy with work."

His hand stiffened, but he reached out and pressed the power button. The computer beeped and came to life.

"You're busy, you're busy," Xingkong said, his face full of flattery.

"Bai Ning, let's go to the north gate of Yunda University."

"Yes, Miss Shen," Bai Ning replied, looking away from Huo Siye and nodding.

He had seen it clearly now. His master was a cold and aloof wolf in front of Miss Shen. But whether cold or warm, when they saw their prey, they all liked to wag their tails.
