Chapter 25 - Victim's Wrath

***

The next day.

Seth woke up, finding himself asleep sprawled on the floor, leaning against the bedroom wall overnight. The sofa in the room was crushed by the wooden door last night, the king-size mattress soaked crimson with Mia's blood, even though it seemed her blood had stopped oozing that morning.

Sunlight began to burst inside, brightening up the room, which was half destroyed by Seth's carelessness in opening the door, and a misunderstanding occurred. Seth's eyes were distracted by the two bowls that were still neatly stored untouched on the glass table near the bed where Mia was lying.

As the light came in, Seth's classic symptoms returned. His head throbbed badly with a spinning worldview; the longer he let it continue, the more painful it became for him.

The young bride's room door opened, one of the men peeked out, and to their surprise, they both saw the room in front of them was a complete mess, the door damaged with Seth sitting limply on the floor, leaning against the room's wall.

"Are you alright?" the man asked, worried.

Seth raised his head, looking up at the person calling out to him now. Although the world seemed to swirl in his eyes, Seth could see and know who called him.

"I'm fine. Get the hell out of here," Seth snapped.

"I'll help you, my wife-"

"Leave, or I'll fucking kill you!" threatened Seth, interrupting the man before him with a gun pointed at them.

The man's wife, curious, dared to look inside the room. The woman's mouth opened wide, with both eyes narrowed violently when she saw a woman lying dead on the bed.

"Who did that to her?!" moaned the man's wife, shocked and pissed off.

"Stay out of this," Seth said.

He tried to rise to his feet and walked over to his bag. Seth unzipped the bag and took out the bottle of headache medicine that always relieved the man's symptoms when they recurred.

Paying no heed to Seth's menace, the woman wriggled out from her husband's grip and walked over to Mia. Her two hands pulled back the blanket firmly that covered half of Mia's body until Mia's severely wounded body appeared before her.

"Did you kill her?" the woman asked, suspecting that Seth had.

"No," Seth replied briefly.

"Then who killed her? How did he get to—"

Seth's left hand took quickly to the pistol he kept in his pants back pocket. He pulled the trigger and let the blue laser pierce the centre of her two breasts until she fell helplessly on the bed, on top of Mia's body.

DOR!

Her husband jumped in shock as the woman who had recently become his wife died in seconds with a badly wounded hole in her breast. He rushed over to her, red in the face with tears, holding back the loss of someone he loved.

"Why the fuck did you kill her?!" the man moaned.

"Your noisy wife kept asking about Mia's death. It pissed me off," Seth replied.

"Bastard! I'll kill-"

Seth pointed the gun in his right hand at the man. He tried to walk toward Seth but failed since the blue laser from Seth's gun was faster than his movement.

DOR!

The blue laser from Seth's handgun shot through his skull, sending blood spurting across Seth's face and clothes. The reckless man died immediately, with his body leaning over Seth's left shoulder.

Annoyed, Seth pushed the man's body down and sprawled on the room floor. That morning, there was not only one body in the room but three bodies with hole wounds from laser gunshots.

After taking a headache reliever, the throbbing head symptoms began to ease. Seth's eyesight returned to normal, his eyes scanning his surroundings.

His cruel attitude grew from his guilt over Mia's death. He didn't want anything he did to endanger anyone around him, so the best option was to live this life alone.

No grouping or accepting any help from anybody. He would only do it for himself so no one would get hurt as a result.

Seth shot the two people in the arm, precisely where the system bracelet was attached; both had the system bracelet on their left hand.

The man pressed a small button on the status bracelet screen, displaying the idle state above the owner state. The idle state could only occur when the owner's hand was cut off, or he was completely dead. Currently, both situations meet the requirements to bring up the idle state.

Seth's system bracelet had identified itself as the receiver. Now, he only needed to press the menu on the two people's system bracelets as the sender. Both of them could immediately send their status simultaneously.

[Level up!]

Earning more than 6,000exp increased his level from 68 to 69. Seth smiled lightly. Previously it took him 12 years for him to reach level 70. However, now he could achieve it in just one week.

The tough experiences in his life before the time loop taught him a lot, especially about how he snatched the system from other people's bracelets. He didn't care about the number of criminals and innocent people who died. It was all necessary in order to liberate Earth from the alien invasion.

Seth thought of rechecking the floor quest that morning. The left hand pressed the floor quest menu to find out what floors were currently unlocked. Seth only hoped that the seventh floor was unlocked when he checked it at the moment.

[Floor Information]

"Only the sixth floor is unlocked, huh?" asked Seth, muttering.

He sighed softly, trying to stretch his body in the morning to relieve the burden of thoughts in his head. Seth was reluctant to dwell on the guilt of Mia's death. He intended to use Mia's death to avenge Skywatcher and the criminals.

After washing up in the young bride's room, Seth put on new clothes, replacing the old ones that had been stained with the blood of the three people.

"Did you hear about the chaos last night? The Arcada group robbed a merchant near this place."

Seth had accidentally heard the name of the group of criminals, the group of thieves who caused all his suffering last night. Out of curiosity, Seth continued to listen to their explanation by eavesdropping from behind the wooden door.

"I heard and saw it. The Skywatchers are hunting them right now," said the other man.

The door to the bridal chamber opened, revealing the figure of Seth with his wet black hair staring at the two men; the two seemed to be walking towards the emergency exit.

"Hey. Wait," Seth called, walking with his bag and the crossbow and arrows tied firmly to it.

The two men suddenly stopped their steps, turned around and looked back at Seth, who walked over. Both of their eyes scanned Seth's appearance, from foot to head.

"What's wrong?" asked one of the men, curious.

"Can you tell me about Arcada's group?" asked Seth, pretending to be enthusiastically curious.

"Why?" asked the man, acting suspicious.

"I want to join with them," Seth said.

The two men before Seth seemed to turn their heads, looking at each other. In the end, one of the men nodded slowly, ready to explain what Arcada's group was like.

"Alright, but I'll explain it in short."
