Malachi and David immediately turned to look at what had dropped to the ground, creating such a loud noise.
For one, it must have been something heavy. If it wasn't part of a building that the explosion affected, then it could only be something else. They had an idea of what might have caused it, and various thoughts flashed through their minds as they took a combative stance.
The area where the object had fallen and created a heavy noise had a bit of a dust cloud around it. This was caused by the fall, but thankfully, the dust vanished quickly when the wind blew past it. Malachi and David were able to see the appearance of what had fallen.
It was just as they expected. What had fallen to the ground was the monster bird.
Malachi would have known this before David and not confirmed it with him if his ability had been activated. A bit of dust entered his eyes from the explosion, so he had deactivated it.
