Just as Malachi and David were about to call it a day, they sensed a gaze on them.
They turned around to look in the direction the gaze came from and saw Leo making his way slowly toward them.
From the way he moved, they could tell that while he was in a much better situation than when they first found him, it was only on the surface. The slow, limping steps told a lot of the story.
Malachi couldn't help but smile at the sight of the young father making his way towards them with several filled bags in his hands.
He came back alive Malachi thought with a smile, unknowingly caring more about Leo returning alive than returning with the crystal hearts.
"Go help him," Malachi turned to his son and instructed. They exchanged a few more words before David dropped the shopping bags in his hands and approached the slowly approaching Leo in the distance.
