Several minutes passed, and Malachi finally managed to fill his car's fuel tank with enough fuel to raise the fuel gauge back to the limit of the green zone.
After emptying the fuel in the fuel container, Malachi considered filling it to the brim with fuel from the other abandoned cars around but decided against it.
For one, putting fuel in the trunk that was filled with important supplies that he and his family were going to use in the apocalypse didn't seem like a good idea. Perhaps he was overthinking it, but Malachi did not feel very good about the idea of placing a fully filled fuel container in the car trunk.
However, the thought of what if he ended up in a situation where he needed fuel again, and there were not enough cars on the road to take fuel from or no cars at all to take fuel from, lingered in his mind.
In the end, Malachi compromised and decided to fill the fuel container to a state where it was half-filled for emergency purposes.
