Chapter 61 - Hanky-panky

"So." Olivia scribbled a mathematical formula in a square-lined notebook. "Just do this, and you can solve this."

She pointed at a trapezoid with an 'h' on the side, printed on a geometry textbook. Beside her, Oliver was peering over her shoulder with a scrunched-up expression.

"I don't get it," he muttered.

Olivia sighed patiently, grabbing the calculator that was on the dining table.

"Alright, let's break it down step by step," Olivia said, her tone gentle as she began to explain the formula. "See, 'h' represents the height of the trapezoid."

Oliver nodded slowly, trying to absorb the information.

She smiled, thankful that her 'student' was surprisingly trying his best and paying attention intently.

"So, to find the area," Olivia continued. "You need to multiply the height by the sum of the lengths of the two bases and then divide by 2."

"Okay," Oliver drawled. "But why divide by 2?"
