"The knock on the door interrupted him. "Come in," Leon said, without the need for the person to show his face. Leon recognized him through their alpha-beta bond and also by his distinct scent. It was none other than Mark, bearing a stack of files.
"Alpha, I did some digging and found this," Mark said as he placed the files on Leon's desk.
Leon's interest was immediately piqued as he began scanning the files. Among the documents, he came across a page that caught his attention.
"Her father was killed by claws, with the injuries resembling a werewolf's work. What was the cause?" Leon inquired.
Mark wore an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry, Alpha. I encountered some disturbances while conducting my investigation," Mark reported.
"Disturbances?" Leon asked with a slight frown. Mark had always been his most reliable asset for uncovering people's identities.
