When a knock landed on the door, Vivian permitted. "Come in."
Upon hearing the permission, the door swung open and Kaylee stepped in. She quietly closed the door behind and leaned further as she stopped in front of Vivian's desk.
As she turned her gaze towards Vivian, she couldn't help but notice the somber look etched onto her face.
"Good morning, Ma'am." Kaylee greeted, praying in her mind that Vivian shouldn't utter a painful word.
"I told you before to drop the formalities. Now I see we might end up in the same position one day." Vivian said but sounded a little irritated.
It perplexed Kaylee about what Vivian said. She didn't dare to say a word, rather listened to her carefully.
Seeing the confused face of Kaylee, Vivian chuckled. "I'm just kidding. It's impossible, right?"
Kaylee needed to answer the question. She answered with a forced smile. "Yes, it is impossible not here."
