In New Brunswick, Ellie and Mrs Ashton were returning from the market. Mrs. Ashton took Ellie to the market since she needed some vegetables and meats for her restaurant.
Mrs. Ashton held three bags of things she bought, while her other hand cradled Ellie's wrist.
"Don't you like it?" Mrs Ashton questioned.
The girl had been sulking all day and she hadn't gotten a taste of what she held.
Ellie glanced at the new snacks in her hand before tasting and replying. "I like it."
"You look gloomy, are you okay Ellie?" Mrs Ashton asked while she noticed how quiet and moody Ellie was.
And Mrs Ashton had known her granddaughter to be chatty around her but the little girl stayed mute for a long time.
"Grandma, I'm worried about Mama. Can I talk with her over the phone?" Ellie asked with her eyes on Mrs Ashton.
