Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"Work your ass harder and get them packaged into the truck!" A hoarse voice said loudly from the other side.

"Roger that Boss!" The workers replied in unison as they complied.

When Kaylee heard him, she turned her head over to the man.

He wore a light brown shirt which was tucked into his trousers as the shirt buttons were open, showing off his broad chest designed in a fine art with tattoo inks, seemingly to be the boss in the warehouse, Davao.

His nostril and mouth couldn't stop bringing out smoke which was slowly dissipating into the air as Davao smoked the cigarette in his hand.

Suddenly there came a 'smash' sound from the truck side.

The workers turned to look in that direction and saw the shattered pieces of bottles on the ground in front of the fragile figure.

Kaylee raised her gaze but her vision was blurred, looking at the unclear figure who was approaching her.

Kaylee was still feeling dizzy, she closed her eyes for a short while before opening it and then her vision was finally clear.

"What the heck did you just do?!" Davao questioned angrily while bringing out the dissipating smoke into the air.

Seeing Davao approach her in rage, Kaylee quickly apologized. "Boss, I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to break the bottles, I should start to clean up the mess right now."

Kaylee lowered her upper body to start cleaning up the pieces of bottles but she was stopped halfway when a grip on her arms pulled her up with her gaze on him.

"Hey! This is a whole crate of drinks you smashed now. How many crates of drink do you have to break in a month before you stop to clean up the mess every time, Huh?" His lips pursed.

Davao's eyebrows narrowed strongly. "If you are weak to work then stay at home and not break things here. So tell me, what should I do with you?" Davao asked angrily while tightening the grip on Kaylee's arm

Kaylee felt her arms squeezing tight in Davao's grip as she felt her arm hurting. She struggled to free her arm from the strong grip but it was futile.

"I-I'm going to clean up the mess right now so please, let this one slide and I promise not to break another next time." Kaylee pleaded as her brown eyes concealed a hope of a second chance.

Davao pushed her arm away while Kaylee stumbled backward. He scoffed, still glaring at the young lady. "It's okay, don't be scared. Just go home and don't return."

After saying this Davao turned around to leave but was stopped when Kaylee caught his hand in a tight grip.

"Boss I'm begging, I-"

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Davao flinched his hands away from the young lady's grips and then glared at her as if wanting to beat her into a pulp.

Looking frustrated, Davao put away the cigarette to the ground and then used his shoe to distinguish the burning cigarette.

"Jeez! This is the reason I don't hire weak fellows to work for me, women are so weak. Look around, do you see any lady here?" Davao questioned with raised eyebrows while waiting for a reply.

Kaylee shifted her gaze while scorching among workers, obliviously she was the only lady among 27 workers.

Waiting for no response, Davao continued. "I'm I not being too patient and generous? Do you plan to chase me away?"

Kaylee shook her head sheepishly at his last question without uttering a word.

His lips pursed as he called two huge men. "Hey come here! Get her things and push her away!" He snapped his fingers hurriedly at his men supervising the workers who were putting some crates into the big truck.

One of them went into the warehouse and brought Kaylee's handbag while the other rushed over to Kaylee.

In a short time, the other came out with Kaylee's handbag and threw the handbag on her body. Kaylee was fast enough to catch it when she felt the two huge men grip her arms, dragging her away.

Struggling in their grip, Kaylee was still pleading."Boss! I can't leave like this!"

After being dragged a short distance away from Davao, she broke their strong grip and rushed to Davao as she went on her knees.

Kaylee took Davao's leg in a tight hold as he couldn't make another step further. Seeing the determination in Davao, Kaylee said. "I would leave right away. What about my wages? You can't chase me away just like that. I should get paid for the hours I have worked."

Davao got irritated as Kaylee was still holding onto his leg and never ready to let go. "Hey! How dare you ask for your wages after causing a great loss?! How would I replace what you have broken without your wages? Get lost!" He looked down at Kaylee and flinched his leg out of Kaylee's hold.

As Davao got his leg free, he moved away from his spot while Kaylee fell to the ground probably because of the force he used to free his leg.

Kaylee stood up and started crawling towards Davao who was moving into the warehouse without his acknowledgment of the young lady crawling behind.

When Kaylee got closer and wanted to wholly grip Davao's leg instead she gripped his trouser and everything went….

"Oh my!" Kaylee exclaimed in disbelief at her own act.

When Davao felt his trousers being pulled down to the ground level, he became furious. "Hey! You crazy bitch! I'm going to kill you! "

Everyone's eyes went wide open in shock, however, they could only laugh in secret and dared not to be caught.

Staying here for the next minute would be bad, so Kaylee stood up and took her heels as the men chased after her.

"Shit!" Kaylee said under her breath.

"Don't let her run away!! Get her!!" Davao yelled angrily and appeared like an angry tiger as his face was about to explode.

After a long-distance running away and taking so many turns in the alley, Kaylee hid in a small corner. She was sweating profusely probably because of the hot afternoon while panting heavily and gasping for air.

Still panting heavily, Kaylee muttered. "What just happened?"

Remembering the scene earlier, Kaylee twisted her face in an embarrassed way.

"Moreover it wasn't my fault! Who walks around without a belt on their waist!? Thank goodness I wasn't caught, otherwise I would be dead." She said to herself.

Kaylee hid there for a short while. She took a peek at the two routes to know if the men were still after her fortunately she couldn't see the men so she came out from her hiding spot while going down the road.

Kaylee raised her arm which was wrapped around with a leather wristwatch that was already peeling off as she checked the time. It was time for her other part-time job!

Kaylee fastened her steps and took the right turn into the isolated place while heading down the alley. Suddenly, she saw two men who appeared from nowhere ahead of her while slowly coming in her direction.

She stopped immediately in her tracks and turned around to follow the other path but saw another three coming towards her as well.

Recognizing their faces, Kaylee sighed deeply in her heart. She was lost about what to do next when she caught a glimpse of another lucky route at the right.

Without hesitation, Kaylee took her heels to that route. When the men saw that she was running away they ran after her in pursuit.

"Jeez! No! I'm doom today!" Kaylee sounded troubled while still running away from those men.

Kaylee took the next turn to the left and she almost bumped into a young lady who appeared like a thug Kaylee halted in her speed fast enough not to cause a collision.

Kaylee turned around to follow the right path but she saw other men different from the previous ones coming through that way. She turned to follow the route she came from however she saw the first men.

Seeing no escape route, Kaylee's heart gripped with fear and suddenly she started to chuckle in humor.

Kaylee showed off her white teeth and then muttered under her breath. "Number six is an unlucky day!"

The young lady uttered no word and kept a stern and dangerous facial expression while moving in slow motion towards Kaylee's. Just in that second, Kaylee felt a hard blow that landed on her cheek which had vision to be blurred.

Kaylee staggered before collapsing to the ground. In her half-unconscious, Kaylee heard the young lady saying.

"Bring her." The young lady ordered as her voice sounded frosty.

Kaylee finally passed out while the men pulled Kaylee from the ground, and dragged her into the van as they disappeared to God knows where.
