A gray mist surrounds me on all sides as I move through the streets of an unfamiliar town. The area gives off a feeling of emptiness due to worn down buildings, flickering street lamps, and most of all no pedestrians whatsoever.
tap, tap, tap
I hear a periodic tapping motion in the distance. As I approach, I make out a vague figure in the mist tapping on a flickering street lamp. I almost shout to the stranger in the mist, as a sense of dread and terror envelopes me.
What I was looking at was no person, it wasn't even humanoid. It stood on its hind legs but had several appendage like arms, wriggling around it's body.
My stomach feels cold as sweat rolls down my face and a bead of sweat fall from my chin. It hit the ground ever so quietly, but yet the figure stopped moving.
It turned around and I saw a centipede like creature standing on its last legs, it rushes towards me at a speed I can't even begin to comprehend.
"AAAHHH!!!"
A guttural scream leaves my mouth as I convulse in fear, disgust and pain. A human sized centipede wriggles on top of me, I can feel its soft underside on me as several legs dig into my flesh, and it bends it head down in a disgusting motion to land the finishing move.

Ken woke up from his nightmare with beads of sweat running down his face. His body twitches involuntarily as he almost vomits the rations he had eaten in the night. He manages to get himself together, holding his head as though holding unto his sanity, there was no one to console him.
"I need to take a walk"
"Be careful out there" The guard said, his face as stern as ever.
Ken rushes out of the auditorium which acts as a safe place for the residents of the school. The rescue teams found him and Jack the previous day and they split up after safely arriving together.
Bursting into a sprint, Ken tries to push behind the nightmares of the centipedes, he pushes the earth beneath him as he jogged. Then for a split second, he sees a vision of a centipede jumping out of a building to get him.
