Chapter 49 - FAMILY REUNION

"Okay, I get the gist of it... Thanks for not giving up on me," Leo expressed his gratitude to Anne, who had provided him with an overview of what had happened.

"Leo!" As he continued to ask questions, he heard a shout of his name, turning his head to meet the emerald eyes of his mother.

"Leo!" His mother cried out once again as she walked slowly towards him, her hands outstretched, hesitant to hug him, feeling an unexplained guilt.

Shaking her head off any thoughts that might hinder her from embracing her child, she went in for a hug.

With a warm smile, Leo welcomed his mother's embrace, stroking her back gently as he tried to comfort her.

Anne, pleased to see him reunited with his mom, slowly and sneakily left the room, giving them space and privacy to reminisce.

"Leo, I'm sorry... I almost lost hope of you ever waking up," his mother confessed, feeling guilty for nearly giving up too early.
