The gods who immediately understood what was going on looked at Geb, mockery and ridicule in their eyes.
Geb reached out his paws towards them, pleading for help as he writhed in pain. He convulsed and spewed out a mouthful of blood before his eyes rolled to the back of their sockets.
He lay there motionless, seemingly dead, but that was not possible, as death was a concept foreign to gods. Torture, pain, torment, joy, sadness, and empathy they knew, as it was from them their creations learned. However, death was a concept known only by mortals, not beings like themselves.
The gazes of the gods continued to lock on Geb, the meerkat who lay there motionless.
Geb's small body shook as he let out an ear-piercing scream.
Despite the intensity of the scream, the gods present did not flinch or make any move to cover their ears.
