Chapter 21 - Considered Dead - Part 1 (Fixed)

The dormant sunshine pierced Crim's eyes, and the straws of the oversized -bird nest- squeezed the young man's fragile back that seemed more malnourished than ever before, and the ragged cloak he believed he'd lost forever on his lap, which delighted The Young man.

"Thank God I didn't lose it," Crim scanned his jumbled memory, unable to recall much of what had occurred, save for a few glimpses.

Crim pulled his cloak from his lap and vowed never to lose it again. After all, it was his favorite possession in the entire world. Doing simple stretches while tying on the Mantles robe knots.

With a sight, the young guy rose to his feet, which wobbled like noodles, and discovered that his left limb was not paralyzed, despite his memory of being unable to move it.

Crim reasoned that the strange spell he had been stuck inside could have been a dream.

Moving forward, the stench of blood and misery was replaced by the odor of mild detergents. The dead pool vanished as if it were a mere nightmare or the work of a Mexican cleaner.

But the place still felt dystopian, and no matter how much he contemplated the possibility that the domain he was placed in had been figments of his imagination.

He had no way to justify how he had been able to walk toward an abandoned shack that sat miles away from the main city where he had passed out, cold.

He still wasn't familiar with flight magic, after all.

As he passed through the interior of the old-school building that screeched of rotten wood with every step creaking more than a grandmother at Thanksgiving, putting him on edge.

The notification sound popping out didn't help his case, his hair standing up, he frantically looked through his pockets examining his target card before checking a secret pocket sewed on the top right of his Jet-black Cloak.

He pulled out his phone, and much to his dismay, a fresh crack had made the screen a glitchy mess.

"The screen, sh*t" He grumbled, angered at the state of his big purchase. With as much as he could decipher through the static, he tried to open it.

Suprisingly, his fingerprint didn't work, Crim didn't know if it was from the cracked screen or something else. He went through his limited apps and entered his bank using his password.

A money deposit made by the bounty hunter association had sent him 2000 allin labeled funeral fees.

despite him being alive without any other family, though it was enough to make him live in luxury for a week. Or buy a new phone that hasn't changed in years, so he wouldn't complain.

He planned on cutting ties with the hunters sooner or later, but why was he counted dead?

Crim told himself to investigate later.

"But who sent the money?" Crim pondered, seeing a name not being listed other than the name of the company that went by the alias of "Goodshades Inc."

"Well, at least I can get some food."

***

Crim walked out with his eyes covered, thanks to the midday sun. Going outside the shack a girl looked at him, she dashed toward the young man before he could react holding a girly colored gun to his face.

"What kind of bullsh*t, first I wake up in a monster's den and know I got some mysterious 'pretty' girl holding a weapon on my face." He said innocently, emphasizing the word pretty to get some flattery points.

The girl spoke no words, but a young demon sure did, 'Wow, you are popular with women. Unexpected considering you killed a whole family without remorse.'

Accepting reality, "Watched", Crim corrected.

'Like that makes it any better. And I thought my father was a terrible person, but then again he did seal his daughter.' Scizon muttered.

'Why does your personality change every time you speak?' Said the angered Crim.

'Does it? Anyways, any idea who this girl is.'

"Nope, zero." Crim accidentally blurted out loud, the young demon facepalmed and the young man could feel it.

The tall girl tightened her grip, allowing the hormonal boy to give a good analysis:

The girl had blond hair that sadly looked faker than a celebrity beauty but the patch of silver coming from the top made it a little better.

The real treasure went not on her unkept hair but on her face, with cherry lips that look devoid of lipstick and shining hazel eyes that would make the regular 15-year-old lose to temptation and try his luck.

Sadly even her smooth skin went so shame, as she was unable to conceal her constant glare.

"Who sent you?"

"Well, there are two people who can send me. One is dead, So I guess the answer is, yes." Crim tried to degrade the question, but the women saw through it.

In response, Crim held out his open palms, requesting peace as the gun closed into his nostrils.

"That doesn't give me the answer I want."

'Huh?' The young demon grunted, confused at the answer Crim had given. But the young man was too tired for an explanation.

"Who do you think sent me?" Crim mused, staring deep down in the girl's eyes circling his gaze between her eyes and lips until she averted her eyes.

'Almost' he thought, getting his hand ready to cast his brand-new power.

"That wild Mut." The girl closed off.

Crim deciphered the words finding a good answer, "Never thought a parent would be high enough to name their child "Wild mut" and my name is Scizon," The young man lied. Adopting the nagging demon stuck in his mind, which was displeased with the event.

The demon had liked his name, but the implications of the sentence greatly displeased him. Crim was dead-faced refusing to move a muscle.

"You know what I MEAN! Derek… That underground b*stard," She lowered her gun for a second, leaving the young man an opportunity.

Crim threw a right hook to the lowered gun and splattered blood on the woman's eyes before she could aim, grabbing ahold of her upper harm Crim threw himself to the ground, dragging the Attacker down with him and putting her on a submission hold with one arm meanwhile keeping her other hand upwards, her gun now fixed on the sky.

The young man follows it up by rolling around to get on top of the young woman, twisting her arm and making her drop the purple-colored deagle, snatching it into his possession Crim hoists it up to the white patch on the lady's hair.

He grinned, using his other hand to fixate her head on the concrete.

This technique would be hard to use on a boy within his age range thanks to his skimpy body being easy to overcome with pure strength. Feeling turbulence, Crim focused his gaze on the Attacker.

"Mgh, I f, mgh, hagh" She grunted, unconcerned with the deagle leveled at her.

Fortunately, the girl couldn't move since she was even lighter than the feather-like Crim, nor could she flap her arms, thinking ahead, The young man had used his legs to apply pressure to her frail arms, acting as a makeshift nail.

"Helpp meeegh" She tried to scream, but her voice was a hiss.

Not that it would matter thanks to the battle taking place at an abandoned area of the city.

"Now, mind telling me about that Derek guy, or wild mutt as you call it? If you can satisfy my curiosity, I will spare you, I'm a man of my word."
