I still remember what the doctor once told me, to keep a cool head, try to avoid getting too worked up or anxious to prevent any negative effects on the baby. So after hearing what Jones said, I took a deep breath.
" Jones, I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear a single word you just said. I'm pretty sure you're. running a fever. Go lie down on the couch for a bit, I'll go get you some meds."
I quickly turned around and left. I found a pharmacy nearby and bought some cold and fever medicine.
"Ms. Brooks." As I was about to leave, Nick walked out from behind the medicine shelves, holding some hangover pills.

"Fancy seeing you here. Do you live nearby?" Nick asked with a polite smile.
I nodded, "Yeah, what brings you here?"
